We had a really lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in a peaceful area. The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but it still felt private - perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling around. Just a heads up, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so you will hear planes overhead - it took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didnt ruin our trip at all. Definitely recommend!

Perfect for unwinding, super peaceful with no city noise at all. Loved it!

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was lovely, though the central heating was quite noisy and a couple of radiators didnt heat properly. The TV was stuck on radio, but the reception lady fixed it quickly.

We just got back from a fantastic week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed and the hosts were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Even though its on a busy farm, it felt like a peaceful retreat we didnt want to leave!

The welcome pack was full of useful info and nice touches, especially for our dogs, which was much appreciated. We stayed at this lovely place and honestly, it was spot on. The house is super well equipped and kept us cosy despite the rainy December weather. The bath was a real treat and the shower is big enough to actually enjoy! The location is perfect for dogs - no fireworks noise here, just peace and quiet. And yeah, the flight path didnt bother us at all. Thanks a lot!

The place itself is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely private and furnished nicely. There are loads of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed. Rob & Sharon put a lot of care into restoring this historic building and it shows. They made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived, along with Bonnie, of course! The place has everything for a comfy and relaxing stay. The location is perfect-plenty of charming villages nearby, like Thaxted, to explore and soak up their rich history. Definitely recommend!

We needed a relaxing break with the dog and this place delivered. Lovely countryside, plenty of off-road walks and great local pubs nearby. The dog loved it so much, he didn't want to leave the car!

Had a great holiday. The staff were very helpful, everyone was very pleasant and friendly. The lodge was very clean and in a beautiful spot with views of the lake. Fishing was good. Plenty of wildlife, we even saw the Kingfisher....

best campsite we have stayed in for a long time, restful and peaceful. Virtually noone around when we arrived. Close to local amenities and pubs and central for getting to Lincoln and Skegness etc. We are seriously considering another booking soon even though its a long drive for us

We had an amazing time at Barlings Country park ! We stayed in The Octagon. It was absolutely beautiful ! The pictures really do not do the place justice! We told reception as we left that they should definitely update their photos because it doesn’t show just how beautiful the place is. It is huge! And has everything you need. We had the best time for a relaxing weekend break! The hot tub was amazing and was cleaned every day. The place was just stunning. We had the best stay and will definitely be back in the future !

15 mins drive to lincoln city centre and 10 mins to a big retail park and pubs.

Perfect place for a quiet break away!

First time visiting and won’t be the last, plenty of space for the kids to run their energy off, lovely views and great location, staff very friends and would definitely recommend, thank you ?

Great location for us to get out and visit family, friends and the east coast.
Lodge excellent accommodation, warm and clean - Hot tub lovely and cleaned daily.
Even got a free Red Arrows display on a few mornings - as it looked like they where up training from one the nearby bases

Amazing! Would definitely recommend. Could not fault the lodge at all! All the staff were fantastic & extremely helpful. We will definitely be returning again soon.
