Tattershall Castle is a National Trust property built in the 15th century by Ralph Cromwell, Treasurer of England. The Great Tower is an imposing red-brick keep with seven storeys, including the Parlour, Great Hall, Audience Chamber and Private Chamber. Some of the huge medieval fireplaces were once ripped out for sale abroad before being tracked down and returned.
Tip: The tower has 149 steps and no lift, and the grounds have deep gravel, so wear sensible shoes. Dogs on leads can go in most places but not inside the Great Tower, except assistance dogs.

We had a really lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in a peaceful area. The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but it still felt private - perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling around. Just a heads up, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so you will hear planes overhead - it took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didnt ruin our trip at all. Definitely recommend!

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was lovely, though the central heating was quite noisy and a couple of radiators didnt heat properly. The TV was stuck on radio, but the reception lady fixed it quickly.

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage! Honestly, we barely needed to pack anything because everything was already provided - we were surprised at how well equipped it was. The welcome pack was full of useful info and nice touches, especially for our dogs, which was much appreciated. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs and the hot tub was a real treat after long days out. Sharon and Rob were super quick to reply if we had any questions. Thanks for a fab break!

We stayed at this lovely place and honestly, it was spot on. The house is super well equipped and kept us cosy despite the rainy December weather. The bath was a real treat and the shower is big enough to actually enjoy! The location is perfect for dogs - no fireworks noise here, just peace and quiet. We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it remains really private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming and friendly. The place itself is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely private and furnished nicely. There are loads of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed. Rob & Sharon put a lot of care into restoring this historic building and it shows. They made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived, along with Bonnie, of course! The place has everything for a comfy and relaxing stay. The location is perfect-plenty of charming villages nearby, like Thaxted, to explore and soak up their rich history. Definitely recommend!

best campsite we have stayed in for a long time, restful and peaceful. Virtually noone around when we arrived. Close to local amenities and pubs and central for getting to Lincoln and Skegness etc. We are seriously considering another booking soon even though its a long drive for us

We had an amazing time at Barlings Country park ! We stayed in The Octagon. It was absolutely beautiful ! The pictures really do not do the place justice! We told reception as we left that they should definitely update their photos because it doesn’t show just how beautiful the place is. It is huge! And has everything you need. We had the best time for a relaxing weekend break! The hot tub was amazing and was cleaned every day. The place was just stunning. We had the best stay and will definitely be back in the future !

Lodge excellent accommodation, warm and clean - Hot tub lovely and cleaned daily.
Even got a free Red Arrows display on a few mornings - as it looked like they where up training from one the nearby bases
