Visitor Reviews of Addlethorpe Country Park

Staff were incredibly rude and just dismissive overall.

Absolutely loved it! Will definitely come back soon, highly recommend to everyone.

When we arrived, we were pretty disappointed to find out the hot tub in our lodge wasn’t working. There was an electrician there trying to fix it, but after about half an hour, they told us it couldn’t be fixed and we’d need to move to a different lodge. Not ideal, especially after a long journey. The staff also mentioned there was no fresh bedding in any of the bedrooms and it took nearly an hour for two staff members to come and make the beds - and honestly, they didn’t seem too pleased to be there, which made us feel a bit awkward. The hot tub was completely cold, so we couldn’t even use it that day and by the next morning, it was only warm - still too cold to enjoy properly. The water level was way below the fill line and there was a dirty, mucky ring around the inside. Not what you want after paying for a stay. We also didn’t get a proper welcome back; I had to keep asking for one, which was a bit frustrating. Inside the lodge, it was quite dusty, which was disappointing given the nice decor that was quite modern and stylish. One strange thing was when we were asked if the neighbouring guests could park on the grass next to us so they could use our electric car charging point - turns out their lodge didn’t have one. On a positive note, a member of staff was really helpful; she managed to get us a welcome pack sorted and even brought us some milk so we could have a drink while we waited. It’s a shame, really, because the location is perfect - so close to Skegness town and all the sights. Sadly, we won’t be coming back. The overall experience didn’t match what we expected, especially with the hot tub and the cleanliness issues. Still, the staff’s efforts were appreciated!

We had a fantastic stay! The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The sunken hot tub was a real treat and the secure decking gave us peace of mind with our baby. Gorgeous views of the golf course too. Definitely would stay again!

We had a fantastic week away! The lodge was perfect and super cosy and the hot tub was a real treat after busy days. The location was spot on for exploring Leicestershire easily. Can’t wait to book our next trip with Hoseasons - it’s just so relaxing!

We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The place was advertised as an 8 berth, but the seating in the lounge only comfortably fit about 4 or 5 people. The dining area and veranda were also quite small, maxing out at around 6 guests and the hot tub could only hold 4, which was a bit of a letdown. The plastic glasses provided weren’t very good quality either - they were scratched and really more suited for the hot tub than for inside the lodge. It would’ve been nice to have proper glassware. Also, the check-out process was frustrating; we had to strip bedding, empty bins and then ring housekeeping to check the lodge and hand over the keys. We tried calling them multiple times, but no answer. We were in a rush to leave, so it felt a bit unfair that we had to do their job. It’s definitely something the staff should handle without us having to wait around.

We had a lovely stay at Addlethorpe - the lodges were spotless and well-equipped, which made everything so easy. It’s a really tranquil spot, perfect for unwinding and if you're into golf, it’s ideal for watching a game or two. The welcome pack was a nice touch, with everything we needed for the dishwasher and washing machine, though I think that might depend on the lodge type. The only thing we’d suggest is upgrading the mattresses - they weren’t the comfiest, which is why we didn’t give five stars. The hot tub was a real highlight - clean, plenty of jets and just what we needed after a day out. Also, the car charger at each lodge was a handy bonus. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Addlethorpe - keep up the good work on cleanliness and attention to detail!

The lodge was spot-on for what we needed - really comfy and the hot tub was definitely a highlight! We’re already thinking of coming back. Just a heads up, bring your own pillow since the ones there are a bit firm, but no biggie.

The lodge was absolutely stunning, but the washer dryer was a bit of a letdown - it only washes, doesn’t dry. Still lovely!

Date of stay: 5th September 2024
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely lodge set in peaceful surroundings. It’s perfectly situated just outside town, so it’s nice and quiet but still convenient. We did run into a bit of a hiccup with the hot tub on our first night, but they sorted it out quickly, which was great. The only downside was the check-out process - we were told to call the departure team between 9 and 10, then wait for them to come and inspect the lodge and collect the keys. We called at 9.15 and again at 9.45, but no one showed up. Luckily, the staff at the country club told us we could just leave the keys there, which was a relief. Overall, lovely place with just a few minor issues!
Emma
Date of stay: 4th September 2024
We really loved the place overall - it’s honestly one of the nicest lodges we’ve ever stayed in! The cleanliness was top-notch and the setting was just perfect for a relaxing break. The hot tub was a real highlight, so relaxing after a long day. That said, we did have a bit of a rough start; our accommodation wasn’t ready until well after 4 pm and the girl on reception seemed unsure when it would be ready. It wasn’t until a manager stepped in that we finally got the keys around 6 pm, which was a bit frustrating. We also tried to order takeaway from the bar one evening, but after calling multiple times, no one answered, so we just went to the local chippy instead. Hopefully, once they sort out the staffing issues, it’ll run even smoother - we’d definitely come back then!

A nice spot, though a few flies around. Being close to woodland, it's understandable, but it didn’t bother us much.
Emma
Date of stay: 28th August 2024
We recently stayed at the lodge and honestly, it was lovely overall. The place looked stunning, though we did notice a few cleaning issues-some handprints on the windows and TV and the floors could have been a bit cleaner before check-in. There was also a strange smell when we arrived, but opening the windows and using some air fresheners sorted it out pretty quickly. The kitchen was well stocked, which was great for cooking our meals. The beds and sofa were super comfy, making relaxing easy. The hot tub was a perfect size for the four of us. Staff were really friendly and sorted out our wifi connection issue promptly. Booking golf was hassle-free and dress code was totally relaxed. It’s about a 40-minute walk into Ingoldmells, but there are a couple of pubs closer by. We really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings!

Date of stay: 30th June 2024
We stayed in a lovely big lodge that had everything we needed. Having two bathrooms was such a bonus with the grandkids! The only thing we’d suggest is softer pillows for a better sleep. Also, some gates at the bottom of the stairs or side decking would help keep the kids and dogs safe when the door’s open. Would definitely return!
