We had such a lovely weekend here! The location is perfect for exploring-so many sights within walking distance, which was a real bonus. The place itself was super clean and comfy, with everything we needed. It’s rare to find somewhere so peaceful and well-appointed. Can't wait to come back again!

We recently stayed for three nights and honestly, it was a great little getaway! The lodge was spotless and really cosy. The water pressure was a highlight - much better than at home, where it’s more like a gentle drizzle. The views from the place are stunning, especially in the sunshine and we even managed to catch a glimpse of Ciara making an appearance in our photo. Claire, the owner, is such a lovely lady and she explained that we were on her organic beef farm, which was quite interesting. The lodge had everything we could think of, so we didn’t need to ask for much. It’s perfect for escaping the hustle, especially since there’s only one other lodge nearby, so it doesn’t feel crowded at all. The folder and leaflets she provided were a nice touch. Can’t wait to come back in summer - it’s going to be even better!

We loved our stay at this lodge! The peaceful setting is perfect for unwinding and it’s spotlessly clean with comfy, high-quality furniture. It’s ideally situated for sightseeing, but honestly, the view alone makes it worth it. We’ll be back!

We stayed at The Haven and the owner was upfront about the stained settee, explaining it was from the previous guests' kids spilling drinks. She’d already tried cleaning it. Overall, we’d say the place was really nice, just a small issue. Would stay again!

We absolutely loved our stay at the lodge! The view was breathtaking, super peaceful and perfect for relaxing. Everything was spotlessly clean and well-equipped, especially the massive fridge freezer which was a lifesaver. The owner was really thoughtful to return a treasured item we accidentally left behind. Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay! The lodge's space and furnishings are top-notch, making it feel homely. Sitting on the decking with those lovely views was a highlight. The bed was super comfy and we appreciated the iron and board-didn’t see that mentioned anywhere!

We stayed at this lovely modern lodge and really enjoyed it. The owners left some nice touches like milk, cakes, cheeses, crackers and a bottle of wine-such a thoughtful gesture! The beds were super comfy and everything was spotless. Only thing was, the sofas had a few stains, but overall, a great stay.

Booked last minute and what a great gem to find. Great location, great accommodation and very welcoming host. Didn’t need anything at all, we had everything we could ask for.

The lodge and setting was superb, everything you needed and a lovely welcome pack, the owners were fabulous, nothing to much trouble. We will definitely return.

Had a great holiday

I booked this weekend to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and it was the best choice. It’s so secluded with outstanding countryside views but at the same time within quick and easy reach of Wells, Wookey,Cheddar and Glastonbury. Also about 40 mins from the coast. We managed to cover all these locations over the 4 days and all were well worth the visit. The lodge was homely, spotlessly clean with everything you need. The beds were very cosy. You get panoramic views from both the double patio doors of Glastonbury Tor and county side. We felt that we were well looked after with the owner keeping us informed of check in/out details and would have had help on hand if anything went wrong(which I’m glad to say didn’t), without being at all intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return if at all possible. So would recommend without doubt.

My wife and I had a fantastic time, anybody wanting a nice relaxing holiday with fantastic views and the lovely clean and comfortable Hideaway Lodge, Burcott Country Retreats is the place to be and would certainly recommend it for a nice peaceful holiday.

Really beautiful peaceful place to stay. Located far enough out of Wells but lots to see and do without travelling too far. Very clean and would recommend.

We didn’t meet the owner in person, but we had a text message and I felt confident if I needed anything, I would be able to contact easily. We checked ourself in and it was lovely easy process from start to finish.

A beautiful location in which to unwind and relax with lots of places to visit nearby. Everything has been thought of to make the accommodation a very comfortable home from home.
