We stayed at the Mallard holiday lodge and it really was great. Everything we needed was provided and the view of the lake from the veranda was lovely. Cheers!

The cabin was really spacious with a lovely layout and the bed was super comfy. The rooms felt cosy, which we loved. Only downside was the TV - it had limited channels - and the WiFi was pretty weak, so we had to rely on our data. Guess we weren't there for the telly anyway!

The place was really chill, perfect for unwinding. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was comfy and the veranda came in handy when it rained. Definitely coming back!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such warm and friendly people, making us feel right at home. The place itself is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to leave! The garden is perfect for dogs-completely dog-proof and with comfy furniture. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and Thaxted’s restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are worth visiting. We’d definitely recommend it!

The village of Thaxted is charming and the cottage itself is really cosy - the hot tub was a real treat, especially during the hot weather when it was cooled down for a refreshing dip. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming; it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields every day. Being near Stansted's flight path was actually quite fun - watching the planes land was pretty cool. We’d definitely come back!
