Very cosy place, felt like home instantly

We had a lovely stay overall. The lodge was fantastic, though a few things like the fixtures and equipment could do with a bit of a tidy-up - no toaster and the grill wouldn’t light. Security was top-notch, making us feel really safe. We adored the peacocks wandering around and the animals at the hall were a lovely touch. The hot tub was a real highlight and Tony, the host, was so helpful and attentive. Adam at the pub was also great!

We had a lovely stay at the Carriage House! The setting is so peaceful and charming, perfect for unwinding. The owners and staff were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help with anything. The hot tub was a real treat and we loved exploring Carlisle and Penrith. Definitely coming back again!

The lodge was quite lovely, but we did notice a few things that could be improved. Our electricity went out unexpectedly, which was a bit of a hassle to sort out. Also, the area around the lodge could do with a tidy-up and the decking needs a good clean. Still, we enjoyed our stay overall!

We recently spent two lovely nights at Calthwaite lodges and honestly, it was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel really welcome and were so friendly throughout our stay. Any little issues we had were sorted out quickly, which was appreciated. The lodge itself was spotless and well-stocked - everything you could need was there and it was beautifully maintained. The hot tub was just perfect, definitely no faults there. The location is great too, with the pub just a short walk away; the staff there are just as friendly and the food was really tasty. Overall, we’d give it a solid 10/10. We’ve already recommended it to friends and family and booked another stay in a few months. Can’t wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff at the pub were so friendly and welcoming. The only thing we’d suggest is maybe a little info pack with details about the boiler and oven, just to make things easier. Overall, a lovely place!

We had a lovely stay at the carriage house, honestly! The grounds are so peaceful and beautiful, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The Globe Inn nearby served up some cracking food and a decent selection of real ales. Big thanks to Tony and the team - we’ll definitely return soon!

We stayed at this lovely coach house recently and it really exceeded our expectations. The place was beautifully renovated to a high standard and super comfortable. Honestly, the cleanliness was top-notch - everything was spotless! The environment looked even better in person than in the pictures. The hot tub was a real treat and added to the relaxing vibe. We also ordered take away from the Globe, which was superb. Can’t wait to return!

Great stay, loved it

Had a lovely break by Ullswater. The area is peaceful and perfect for relaxing. Felt safe with all the covid precautions in place. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful stay. This lodge's seating area sits facing away from all the other lodges, with a view over the fields. Well worth paying the extra for privacy. Lodge extremely comfortable and in excellent condition. Our confirmation email didn't say to collect keys at the pub opposite the gates - you need to get them to get through the security gate onto the site. Small site and very quiet. M6 nearby and some noise of traffic but minimal and you soon don't notice it. My old dog appreciated the enclosed veranda and with this being the biggest lodge on site, the veranda gave him his own space. Plenty of quiet dog walks nearby too.

Booked this for 3 days which cost just over £600 which taking into account we were actually only in the lodge for 1 day I felt was a lot of money. We were in Calthwaite for a family so it made sense to stay here. The cabin was a good size and clean, comfy beds and the hot tub was great. Staff amazing. My only real issue was that it was hot while we were there and we had no fans or air con which made things abit uncomfortable at times. I have to be fair though we did not ask if fans were available due to the short time of our stay. The pub across the road was also lovely, again with lovely staff.

A beautiful retreat for relaxation. Not much around, but that's a good thing. The horses are beautiful as are the peacocks that roam around freely. Wonderful!!

Had a relaxing weekend away here Lovely pub on the doorstep with nice food which is also used as check in and Staff are on hand if you need them via the pub too Ideal for a break away from it all, probably not for kids though as not much around. We will be returning
