We had a really lovely time! Sharon and Robert went out of their way to make us feel at home, which was much appreciated. The place was spotlessly clean, cosy and perfect for Archie with secure outdoor space. The location was just right - plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are charming. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed after our week away. Can’t recommend it enough!

We just got back from a four-night stay at this charming cottage and honestly, we had a great time. The owners are super friendly and helpful but not pushy, which we really appreciated. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog to roam freely. The place had everything we needed, including a well-stocked kitchen and a fabulous hot tub. We even enjoyed a BBQ one evening. Definitely planning to come back and already told friends about it. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a fantastic 4-night stay! The lodge was spotlessly clean, really well equipped and felt quite cosy. The hot tub was ready with fresh water when we arrived and was checked daily - nice touch! We loved chilling in the clubhouse with a pint and the peaceful setting overlooking the pond with ducks was just lovely. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. Couldn’t ask for more, definitely recommend. 10/10!

We had a fantastic stay at this little gem! The cottage is so well equipped, we didn’t need to bring a thing. We ended up overloading the car because everything was thought of - from the welcome pack with all the info to the thoughtful extras for our dogs. The enclosed garden kept the pups safe and the hot tub was just perfect after a day out. Sharon and Rob were quick to reply to any questions. Honestly, it was a lovely break and we’ll definitely be back!

We had a fantastic weekend from March 7th to 10th. Staying in the Hawaii cabin was a real treat-spotlessly clean and super comfy beds made all the difference. The hot tub was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The pizza van served up delicious pies and the bar was a lovely touch. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. Definitely coming back!

We just got back from a really nice week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had everything we needed - super well equipped. The hosts made us feel so welcome and even though it’s on a working farm, it’s surprisingly peaceful. Loved it!

We had a lovely stay at this place, tucked away in a really peaceful spot. The owners were super friendly and always there if we needed anything, but it still felt private enough to relax. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling around. Just a heads up, the cottage is quite close to Stansted’s flight path, so you do get quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, it’s worth knowing. Overall, we’d happily come back!

Staying in the luxury cabin for four nights was fantastic! The hot tub was definitely one of the best we've experienced. We really enjoyed our time and are already planning to come back. Will also recommend it to family and friends for sure!

We loved the peaceful setting for our 30th pearl anniversary. The lodge was spotless and cosy and the hot tub was fantastic-just watch the hot water! Could do with more cups and glasses, especially if you're with a bigger group. Still, overall, a great stay!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, nestled on a working farm but surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, were genuinely friendly and made us feel welcome. The place itself is really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn't want to leave. The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed meals at The Star and The Maypole in Thaxted-definitely recommend this spot!

We needed a break to walk the dog and this place was just perfect. Lovely comfy accommodation, close to pubs and eateries and endless fields for walks. The dog loved it so much, it didn’t want to leave!

We had an amazing stay at this lodge! The setting is just gorgeous, surrounded by countryside and it’s perfectly placed for exploring York, the Moors, or the coast - all within easy reach. The park itself was really well-kept and peaceful. One of our favourite things was just lying back at night and gazing at the stars; it’s such a clear sky! The staff were lovely and made us feel really welcome. The lodge was spotless, spacious and super comfy. The hot tub with the view across the fields was a real bonus. Only tiny gripe was the fridge - a bit on the small side for self-catering, but honestly, it didn’t spoil things. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic time! The location was perfect, with easy access to York, Leeds and Alton Towers. Plus, cinemas, supermarkets and trampoline parks nearby made everything so convenient. Loved it!

What can I say…. Paradise, tranquil, heaven with superb lodges and fantastic staff and super helpful what more could you ask for ?

A great spot. Well worth a visit and plenty to do in the surrounding area with York just a stones throw away.

We were a little concerned about the reviews stating the lack of an oven but our lodge (Paris Pitch) was equipped with one as are the majority of the others. The only reason for the 9 score was because you needed a car to get near to ant amenities such as shops and restaurants. However it is a lovely tranquil setting and perfect for a relaxing break which was just what we needed.

We had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful lodge and the scenery outside while in the hot tub is stunning. The beds are very comfortable and showers were great! The only thing to be aware of is there isn’t an oven but there is a microwave and two ring hob. Apart from that there is everything you need for a lovely break. It’s also close to York so lots to do there for days out.

AMAZING! The pictures just don't do this place justice. It was wonderfully modern, perfectly clean and a great place to relax and chill. The cabin was mega ECO and John explained a lot of what they'd done to make it so low energy comsumption. It was really comfy, all the fittings and finishings seemed to be of a high quality and we had a fabulous break there - the hot tub was a dream! Only thing to note is there is a 2 ring hob and a microwave combi oven, but no actual oven, so you'd need to think what you can cook with those limitations.

Outstanding lodge in a lovely location. We were really impressed with quality of furnishings in the lodge and the hot tub was wonderful. The lodge sat right on the edge of the duck pond with a relaxing fountain which was illuminated at night. Our 3 year old loved the very friendly ducks that visited every morning. Only gripe was that there was not an integrated oven - a standalone mini-oven was in place but it was very difficult to cook for more than 2 people. However, this would not stop us from returning. Very happy with our stay.

Flaxton meadows what an amazing getaway with a beautiful cabin and an amazing location, the log cabin was very spacious with everything you need and more. The campsite was lovely and the location was in a perfect spot as it wasn’t too far from York city centre and other places to visit. We would definitely visit again as we had a wonderful time.

Great surroundings and very close to York and all the amenities it has to offer .Site very quiet which was great coming home to after busy day .
