We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into beautifully restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us a warm welcome, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex’s charming villages like Thaxted-definitely worth taking a leisurely stroll around to soak up the history and sights. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway!

We had such a lovely stay! The owners are genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The cottage itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and a great shower that’s perfect after a day out. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel like home. Plus, parking right next to the cottage was super convenient. It’s well heated, spotless and perfect for exploring Thaxted’s beautiful walks and windmill. We’d definitely return!

The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such lovely people-really friendly and welcoming. The place itself is spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The garden is perfect for dogs, completely secluded and furnished nicely. There are plenty of scenic walks nearby and Thaxted's restaurants, like The Star and The Maypole, are worth visiting. We’d definitely recommend it!

We stayed at this place and honestly, it’s really well kitted out and super cosy, perfect for a chilly December day. The bath was lovely and the shower was big enough to feel like a spa! The location is quite remote, but that’s a plus if your dogs hate fireworks - they’re safe here. The house is beautifully converted and didn’t get disturbed by the planes overhead at all. Thanks a lot!

We had a lovely stay at this good place, tucked away in a peaceful spot. The owners really made us feel welcome and were super helpful when needed, but kept the privacy intact. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day. A small thing to note is that the cottage sits right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, it might be worth considering. Overall, a great place to unwind!

We stayed here for a week in July with our two little dachshunds and honestly, we had a great time. The cottage is really charming and the hot tub was such a treat, especially during those super hot days when the water was perfectly cooled. It was lovely to see the hosts being so welcoming and taking their dogs out to the fields every day. Being near Stansted's flight path was actually quite fun; we enjoyed watching the planes land. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Hide for a relaxing getaway with your furry friends!

Had a lovely time friendly staff and beautiful location

We’ve just had a fabulous week in the Golden Coast holiday village, the activities for the kids are amazing, the high ropes/climbing wall, outdoor heated pool were fantastic, we will be returning. The only thing I would mention is that there is 1 queue for food and drink, which can take 20 minutes to get from the back to the front..and the connection for contactless payment needs speeding up.. apart from that, the staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful, just need more of them, or a different system at the bar.

This is a wonderful place where everything is perfect, lovely feel to the place , very well organised and there is nothing missing the staff are so professional nothing is too much trouble , from the first step onto the park it is super welcome , the caravan was great and so clean we would like to say thank you for such a wonderful time, keep the good work up . Thank you .

Holiday with grandchildren 2 teenagers and an 8 year old , plenty to do for both ages easy access for different beaches feel we didn't make the most of the holiday camp would have been better if the 2nd indoor pool had been open as we were quite away from the main hub however beautiful setting

Caravan was spotless, good in site was good…no problems with staff…very good holiday park for families
