Cleanliness was impressive and the place felt really welcoming throughout our stay.

The owners were genuinely friendly and made sure we had everything. Definitely recommend if you’re after a quiet, relaxing getaway. We loved it!

Perfect break

We stayed at this lovely cottage recently and honestly, it was fantastic. The owners are so welcoming and genuinely helpful, which made our stay even better. The place itself is stunning - a charming half-timbered building with a cosy vibe, a powerful shower and a comfy bed that felt like home. Parking right outside was a real bonus and everything was spotless. We enjoyed peaceful walks across the fields to Thaxted and it’s so easy to get around to explore nearby villages with pretty houses and a windmill. Definitely recommend!

The caravan was pretty dirty when we arrived, so we called reception. They responded swiftly and sorted it out to a good standard, which was great!

We had a fabulous stay at this cosy cottage! The place was spotless and really well stocked, making it super comfy for us and the dogs. Loved exploring the nearby walks right from the doorstep. The host was lovely, very quick to reply and made us feel so welcome. Meeting Penelope the pig was a highlight! Definitely coming back, such great value!

We had a pretty decent stay overall. The caravan was comfy and the staff were generally friendly. The only hiccup was the bed not being made up when we arrived, but honestly, the bedding was easy enough to sort out ourselves. We decided to eat in the restaurant one evening and that was a bit of a mixed bag. We ordered our starters and mains at the bar, but they arrived all together, which was a bit odd. When we pointed it out, the staff member just said he’d check and then came back saying the mains were already cooked and there was nothing he could do. No real apology, which was a shame. The bar team did apologise for the mix-up, though, so at least that was nice. Overall, a decent place with some small flaws.

We just got back from a lovely week at Goddards Mead. The place is super well-equipped - honestly, everything you could think of is there. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and even being on a farm, it feels really peaceful and relaxing. Love it!

Luna wagged her tail so much she hurt it, but it's all good. Definitely planning to return soon. Great spot, really happy with everything!

The cottage is lovely and perfect for a peaceful getaway. Just a heads up, there are night flights from Stansted, so don’t expect complete silence. The hot tub is a real bonus!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead and it was lovely. Rob & Sharon really put a lot of effort into sympathetically restoring the historic building and they’re genuinely friendly hosts-made us feel very welcome along with Bonnie. The place has everything you need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially Thaxted and nearby villages. Definitely worth taking the time to stroll around and soak up the history and charming architecture.

We had a fantastic stay at this place! The house is really well kitted out and super cosy, perfect for those chilly December days. The bath was a real treat and the shower was lovely and spacious. Being near a flight path didn’t bother us at all - don’t let it put you off. For dog owners, it’s ideal, especially if your pups hate fireworks. Thanks a lot!

The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie - we felt totally secure. The location was just right, with plenty of nice walks around and charming villages like Thaxted nearby. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed, which is exactly what we needed. Would definitely recommend it!

We needed a quick getaway for the dog and this place was just what we hoped for. The accommodation was top-notch, with lovely walks nearby and plenty of pubs and eateries within walking distance. The dog didn’t want to leave!

A good base for a holiday incorporating bike, walking and train service. Didn't use the restaurant or swimming pool.

Reception staff lovely and helpful. Especially the blonde hair lady.

Absolutely loved it here, the staff as so very helpful and friendly. The caravans spotless, as are the clubhouse and pool. My only complaint is that the children's play area is not suitable for children under 4, my little boy who is two really wanted to play in ther ruby he couldn't as it was too dangerous. You really need a bit for the younger kids.

Very clean caravan, everything we needed. Unfortunately I was unwell all the time there, so didn't manage to enjoy everything is as we really should have. After visiting hospital I was told to go for a follow up at my local one the next day, so we left very early. I left a note for customer service,in the caravan, stating what happened and that we would love to come back soon. But there was no acknowledgement. Hopefully we can go back and enjoy it fully. The only negative, TV reception was bad. We don't go away to watch TV, but as I was ill...

Very good site, excellent facilities and great staff.

Stayed in the DV caravans and were well equipped but one oddity, there was no teapot, just about everything else but no teapot and we had two caravans and the other one had no pot either. We loved the Bluetooth connection from our phones to the caravan speaker system, a real nice touch and an easy way to stream your music. A very nice site and fully recommended and would have loved to stay for 7 days however with things the way they are today I was lucky to afford 3 nights. Some of the family used the swimming pool with no complaints but bit strange you have to book in advance, a roll over from the Covid days I suppose. We did not use the onsite restaurant so no word on this from us.

Good caravan , helpful staff ,pool good and heated indoors and out, kids loved it

Caravan was spacious and clean. Supermarket less than 5 mins away. Close to beach. Entertainment great for both adults and kids. Swimming pool is partly under cover and water is warm. All round a great place to chill out and also have fun with the activities including bingo if you choose. Great menu in club House and reasonably priced if you choose to eat out.
