We had a really lovely time at Lakeside VIP Lodges. The place was super well equipped - everything you could need was there. The lodges were spotless and we loved watching ducks and swans every time we stepped outside on the decking. Such a peaceful spot!

We recently stayed at this charming lodge and honestly, it was just what we needed. The place was spotless, warm and had a really modern feel to it. We stayed in Lodge 3 and Ian was a star-he greeted us warmly on arrival and was always around during our stay, giving us helpful tips. Even though there are two new lodges being built at the entrance, the noise never bothered us-just the usual drilling and knocking during the day. Stepping out onto the decking with views over the lake, swans and ducks peacefully floating by, was such a lovely way to start or end the day. Our visit was during a quiet time, so it was peaceful, but that didn’t bother us at all. The location's great-only about 25 minutes to Blackpool and within walking distance to the dog-friendly Shovels pub, which serves fantastic home-cooked food. We also enjoyed drinks outside at the River Wyre pub, with gorgeous river views. The hot tub overlooking the lake at dusk, robes and slippers provided, made it extra special. We’d definitely recommend it - perfect for a relaxing getaway!

We recently stayed at this cosy lodge and honestly, it was quite a find. The hot tub was spot on, set at the perfect 40 degrees and we loved relaxing in it. The place had all the essentials, including a washing machine and dryer - though we didn’t use them, it’s handy to know they’re there. Every room had its own TV, which was a nice touch. The location was pretty convenient, with a pub just a short walk away. We tried the Sunday lunch but felt it was a bit off - probably because of Mother’s Day rush or trying to do too much. The food that arrived looked decent, though. Closer than the pub, there’s a kebab and pizza shop that we honestly think is the best we’ve had in ages - tasted proper lamb! There’s also a chippy and a Spar nearby. A couple of minor things: you can see into the lodge opposite from the lounge and the hot tub could do with a blind on the patio doors. The noise from the main road isn’t too bad, especially when in the hot tub, as the hedge is growing to block it out. The kitchen could do with a jug and a wooden spoon, but we’d definitely come back!

We had a fantastic week here from 15 to 22 July with our two adorable mini dachshunds. They loved making new friends in the charming village of Thaxted. The cottage itself was really lovely and the hot tub was a real treat-especially during the scorching hot days when it was cooled just right for a refreshing dip. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily. Being close to Stansted and on the flight path was interesting too, watching planes arrive. We’d definitely recommend it!

We just got back from a four-night stay at this cosy cottage and had a really good time. The owners are super friendly but not overbearing, which was perfect. Our dog loved the big fenced garden and the cottage had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. We even enjoyed a relaxing evening in the hot tub-absolutely loved it!
