The lodge was a total mess when we arrived-dirty towels on the floor and used beds. Disgraceful!

We had a wonderful stay at this lodge! The amenities were spot on, parking was easy and the outdoor patio was perfect. Can't wait to come back with more family members!

The place was missing a travel cot and there weren’t enough cleaning or bathroom products. Small touches would really help.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge! The bedrooms were spacious and comfy and the living area felt plenty big enough for everyone. The shower was definitely a highlight-possibly the best we've come across in ages. Only hitch was one door key was missing, but the site manager sorted it quickly. We’d definitely come back!

We had such a lovely weekend staying here! The place was perfect for what we needed and we really enjoyed ourselves. Our pups were in heaven with the underfloor heating and the garden kept them entertained for hours. Luna especially was wagging her tail so much she strained it - the vet said she was just that happy! We’ll definitely be coming back.

The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but they didn’t intrude on the quiet. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! Just a heads up, the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much after a while, but if you’re sensitive to noise, it’s worth knowing. Overall, a great place for a peaceful break!

Being on the Stansted flight path was surprisingly interesting; we enjoyed watching the planes come in. The village of Thaxted is adorable, perfect for a peaceful getaway.
