Great place to stay, spacious, lovely setting and perfect for pets!

Really disappointed the onsite restaurant was closed during our trip.

We had such a great weekend stay! The place really ticked all our boxes and we’re already planning to come back. The kids loved the garden and the underfloor heating kept everyone cosy. Our dog Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it-bless her! Definitely a spot we’d recommend to anyone looking for a comfy getaway.

The dog walks right outside are a big plus for us and the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, were a hit with the dogs. The host was super friendly and easy to communicate with. We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it feels very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming and friendly. The place is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to get out of! The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. We enjoyed exploring the nearby walks and Thaxted’s restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, didn’t disappoint. Definitely a place we’d recommend!

We spent a week here in mid-July with our two mini dachshunds and it was just lovely. The cottage itself is really charming and the hot tub was such a treat, especially during the scorchingly hot days - it was perfect to cool off in. The hosts were genuinely welcoming and friendly and it was nice to see their dogs taken out to the fields daily. Being close to Stansted’s flight path was actually quite fun, watching the planes come in. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Hide for a relaxing stay!
