We had such a lovely stay. The owners are genuinely warm and thoughtful, making everything feel easy and welcoming. The cottage’s charm really stood out - a beautiful half-timbered place with a powerful shower, a cosy kitchen and lounge area and a super comfy bed. Parking right outside was a real bonus. It’s well heated, spotless and perfect for exploring the nearby fields and the charming village of Thaxted, just a short drive away. We’d definitely come back!

We had a really lovely stay at this cottage. It’s tucked away on a working farm but feels very private and peaceful. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are super friendly and welcoming. The place itself is spacious, with a well-stocked kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to leave! The garden’s perfect for dogs, fully enclosed and furnished nicely. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s got some cracking restaurants-The Star and The Maypole are favourites, while The Swan and Indian are decent too. We’d definitely recommend it.

It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didn’t ruin our trip. Overall, a great little getaway if you don’t mind the occasional noise.

The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - absolute bliss! A heads up though, the cottage is quite close to Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us after a while, but if you're sensitive to noise, it’s worth knowing. Overall, a great find!

We booked this place for a dog walking getaway and it was just what we needed. Lovely comfy accommodation, plenty of fields for walks and great pubs nearby. The dog didn’t want to leave at all!

The place itself is super comfy and perfect for relaxing. We loved exploring the charming villages nearby, especially Thaxted, with its lovely old buildings and rich history. Honestly, Goddard's Mead is a good place in Essex and we’d definitely stay again!

A beautifully maintained site with wonderful views. There's a pub at the entrance (looks nice but we didn't visit this time), an onsite laundry and a small shop in reception. I would definitely recommend that you bring enough food as there are NO supermarkets to nip out to (a Costcutter in Lynmouth has essentials but not much selection for more than a couple of days).

A brilliant place to navigate north Devon. Any problems were sorted very quickly with very friendly staff.

We had a perfectly lovely stay at Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, the staff couldn't have been nicer they came to find us as we got a little lost, then took us straight to our caravan, which was amazing, the height of cleanliness, even a little pot of teabags, coffee, chocolate, sugar and milk to greet us on arrival, we will book again, the site was very much a retreat very peaceful, easy to get out and about and lovely to come back to a little quiet, the staff were always cheery and smiley, a lovely holiday thankyou.

This place is amazing I cannot recommend it enough and no iam not related to anyone who runs it lol it was just an amazing stay the view is phenomenal just wish I could wake up to it every day so good for well being will defiantly stay again ten out of ten
