We had a fantastic time at Medmerry! The staff were genuinely friendly and always happy to help, which made us feel really welcome. The dog-friendly facilities, like the agility area, fields and the beach, were perfect for our pup. The dog wash was such a clever idea too. The accommodation was spotless, modern and well-equipped. We’ve already booked again-can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here for my sister’s birthday and honestly, it was a pretty great experience. The chalet was super clean and had a nice layout, though we did find the second bedroom lacked enough storage space. Also, a few cooking utensils were missing, but I’m sure if we’d asked at reception, they’d have sorted it quickly. The bar and restaurant were really lovely, with tasty food and drinks at good prices. The whole site was spotless and well maintained. Everyone we met was friendly, especially the staff and the dog-friendly vibe. The hot tub guy was really nice, checking the tub daily. We had a brilliant time and can’t wait to come back!

We found the stay quite reasonable for the season we visited. The dog-friendly amenities really tipped the scales for us when choosing this spot. We've been before and definitely plan to return again soon!

We had a lovely, relaxing stay and are already thinking of returning. The chalet was spotless, beds comfy and the space decent. Just wish there was a bit more room for clothes! Definitely recommend.

Great caravan, but the heating let us down.

The lock issue was minor and the maintenance team sorted it out swiftly. The bed was so comfy, we didn’t want to leave! Parking’s a bit tight, but overall, a lovely stay.

Honestly, this place has some real positives, but it’s a bit of a mixed bag. First off, the location is fantastic! It’s right next to the sea and there’s so much to do-crazy golf, table tennis, a play area and even a dedicated dog zone with agility equipment. They really make you feel welcome if you’re bringing your dog, greeting you with a little bag of treats, a ball and poo bags, which was a lovely touch. The outdoor swimming pool is a bonus too, especially if you're there during the season. The bar onsite is handy for a quick drink after a busy day. We stayed in a luxury chalet, which looked nice when we arrived-clean and tidy. The only thing that really made it feel ‘luxury’ was the dishwasher, coffee machine and the bottle of prosecco along with milk in the fridge. Sadly, the space to unpack was pretty limited; no wardrobes, just a tiny hanger in one room and a few shelves. The second room only had coat hooks, so storage was a bit of a challenge. The lounge was a tad cosy too-if there were four of us, it might’ve been a squeeze. The outside area was fenced off which was a relief and there was a sunshade too, but of course, the weather didn’t play along in October. We did have a bit of a mishap when my son dropped his ear pods and we had to move the bed to find them. That’s when we discovered the place wasn’t quite as clean as we’d hoped. There was dust and debris under the beds and sofa and we found some odd things like dog treats, a plaster, broken glasses, wrappers and some hair. The pots, pans, cups and glasses weren’t spotless either, but luckily, I had dishwasher tablets to give them a good wash. If the chalet had been cleaner and wasn’t marketed as luxury, especially during the summer, I think it could easily be a 5-star spot. It’s got a lot of potential, just needs a bit more attention to detail.

We had such a lovely stay! The beds were so much better than usual caravan ones-really comfy and spacious, with nice bed linen. The staff were super friendly. Even though we don’t usually use the facilities, there’s so much to do-dog agility, eco kids area, outdoor pool, it’s great!

We had a fantastic weekend here and really enjoyed our stay. The place was just what we needed and we’ll be returning for sure! Our dogs had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating and the garden was perfect for them to play in. Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it, but all’s well now. Happy pups, happy us!

The cottage was fantastic, perfect for our needs and tucked away from busy areas. The hot tub was an added bonus! Owners were genuinely helpful without being pushy. We loved it!

We stayed at this lovely cottage on a working farm and I must say, it’s surprisingly private despite the location. Robert and Sharon are such lovely hosts; they really make you feel welcome. The place itself is huge, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed’s super comfy. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of scenic walks around too. Thaxted has some great places to eat, like The Star and The Maypole, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend!

Honestly, it was just what we needed to unwind and recharge. We’d definitely come back!

We recently stayed here for a week in July with our two mini daschunds and honestly, it was a lovely break. The cottage itself feels really cosy and we loved the hot tub - especially since it was boiling outside, so cooling down in the water was just perfect. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel really welcome. Watching the planes land near Stansted added a bit of entertainment too. The village of Thaxted is charming and our pups made loads of new friends. Definitely would recommend if you're after a relaxed getaway!

We just got back from a four-night stay at this charming cottage and honestly, we loved it! The owners were super friendly and not at all intrusive, just there if you needed anything. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. Inside, everything was really well stocked - we even enjoyed the BBQ one evening. The hot tub was a real highlight! We’re already telling friends about it and will definitely come back. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners were super friendly and really helpful from start to finish, which made all the difference. The place itself is spotlessly clean, warm and feels cosy with a great kitchen and comfy bed. Parking right beside the cottage was a real bonus. We enjoyed walking through the fields to Thaxted, admiring the half-timbered houses and windmill. Definitely a place we’d return to!
