We booked a dog-friendly getaway and honestly, it was just what we needed. Lovely place with great nearby pubs and plenty of walking options. The dog loved it, didn’t want to leave at all!

We had a fantastic weekend stay here! Everything about it was just right for us and we’re already planning to come back. The garden was a hit and our dogs had a blast. Luna especially loved wagging her tail so much she strained it-her vet confirmed it’s from all the fun. Happy pups, happy us!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and it was lovely. Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into converting the historic building and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable too. The place has everything you need for a chilled-out stay. The location is perfect - right in Essex’s heart - and we’d definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages to soak up the history and charm. Definitely worth a visit!

The location was great, with loads of lovely walks nearby and Thaxted and the other villages are definitely worth exploring. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed, it was just what we needed!

We stayed at this lovely cottage on a working farm and honestly, it’s a good place. The place feels really private despite being on a farm and the owners, Robert and Sharon, are such lovely people. The space inside is generous and the kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. The bed’s super comfy, which was a bonus. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some nice restaurants too. We’d definitely recommend it!

The hot tub was a real highlight after cycling all day. A little heads-up: the cottage sits right under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of noise from planes. It didn’t bother us much after a while, but if you're sensitive to noise, it's worth mentioning. Overall, a great spot for a relaxing getaway!

We just got back from a really nice week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had everything we needed and the hosts were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Even being on a working farm, it felt peaceful and relaxing-like a little escape we needed!

Really enjoyed the stay

We honestly think this was one of the best caravans we've stayed in, especially with the car parked right beside it, which was a real bonus. The swimming pool was a lovely touch - we used it a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The entertainment here is definitely better than other sites we've been to and we weren’t disappointed. Only thing is, they could be a bit tougher with kids running around during the adult shows. During school holidays, it might get chaotic!

Amazing little resort. It has everything you need. The one minor downfall is the prices in the Club Tropicana. I imagine a family on a budget would really struggle to make the most of the entertainment venue.

Everything you need on site or 10 mins drive away there are buses in till later if you don't drive lots and lots to do around the area

The entertainment team are just fantastic & are second to none. The site has everything you need & it is just a few miles from Fantasy Island & Skegness. I would highly recommend staying here.

From start to finish was an excellent holiday. Good value for money . Free entertainment, free swimming, children soft play,food and drink reasonable price. Got 2 coffees,fruit shoot,coke,and shoot at bar. Kids club, out door play, tennis and football. Chapel st leonards is a fantastic beach. Only 10min walk. 20 min drive from Skegness. All around very good holiday and caravan site.

Our static was well prepared and spotlessly clean. My chef son made good use of the small kitchen and gas oven (after buying a suitable knife and chopping board). The water pressure was good especially in the large shower. Wi-Fi was available for up to three mobiles/tablets and was adequate. We brought a fan which turned out to be a blessing! We also brought our own towels/T-towels/loo rolls and small rubbish bags. The static had plenty of storage/wardrobes/hangers (but no hooks). The small fridge and freezer were both efficient. There is an on-site laundromat and the lovely beach is a short walk away. (We didn’t make use of our free passes to the evening entertainment or swimming pool so unable to evaluate). There is a good supermarket over the main road and a large Co-op and small butchers less than a mile away.

Had a great week here with the mrs and 2 kids, plenty to do in the park during the day at the entertainment. Although we never used this to our advantage as we would venture into Skegness for the day but we spent a few nights at the entertainment and it was ideal for kids woth soft play and games etc. Swimming pool also really good woth flumes for my oldest kid but youngest 6 month old went a bit blue in the pool after 30 mins so she had to go out but overall really pleased with the holiday and resort as a whole

Good valuefor the money, very clean site.

Ideal holiday only downside was no table and chairs to sit outside on hot days
