We had a lovely stay at this charming little spot. The privacy was spot on, tucked away in a peaceful area, yet the owners were really friendly and always there if we needed anything. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - honestly, it was just what we needed. One thing to keep in mind, though - the cottage sits right under Stansted’s flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didn’t spoil our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely spot, tucked away in a quiet, private setting that felt really special. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, always nearby if we needed anything, but still maintaining our privacy. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling, absolute bliss! One thing to keep in mind though, the cottage is right under the flight path, so there’s quite a lot of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much after a while, but it might be a bit much if you’re sensitive to noise. Still, we’d definitely come back!

Robert and Sharon are genuinely lovely hosts, making us feel right at home. The place is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that’s perfect after a day exploring. The garden’s completely dog-proof and great for unwinding. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s eateries like The Star and The Maypole are worth a visit. We’d definitely recommend it!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed. Rob and Sharon have done a lovely job converting the historic building with such care. They were incredibly welcoming when we arrived, making us feel right at home, along with Bonnie’s friendly presence. The location is perfect for exploring Essex’s charming villages like Thaxted - it’s worth taking the time to wander around and soak in the history and beautiful architecture. Highly recommended for a relaxing break!

The host was so friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially Pig Penelope, was a real highlight. We’ll definitely return - great value and highly recommend!

Our dogs had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating and the garden to run around in. Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it-can’t blame her! Definitely a hit with both us and the pups!

It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t ruin our holiday at all. Would definitely recommend!

Our car had to be recovered by Greenflag, the reception helped us so much they got our caravan ready before 12 mid day and were all very approachable 10/10

Lovely site in an ideal place. Only thing that could improve it is a shop on the site there is one on the other site up the road so not a big deal.

Loved our holiday here very quiet and relaxed we didn’t come in contact with staff or at the clubhouse as we were busy doing other stuff but an amazing holiday we will be back next year

Great caravan, shame about the other people in a close caravan near us who would come back and then put the car radio on full then go inside with no thought to others. Park nicely laid out not to hard to find, great standard of home when we arrived. Shame we did not know that we could of walked from the camp straight to the castle as there is an entrance in the corner.
