Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The place was supposed to be a luxury lodge, but it fell way short. There was no internet at all, which was a pain and the hot tub area was covered in green mildew, so we didn’t even bother sitting outside. The lodge itself wasn’t much better-dirty chairs, uncleaned and just generally unwelcoming. The staff struggled with English, which made things awkward, but the mother and daughter running the pub were lovely. Honestly, we wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The lodge was spotless when we got there and the hot tub was all set up, which was great. It had everything we needed, super cosy and really home-like too.

When we arrived, the lodge was missing an iron and ironing board and the bedroom TV remotes didn't work. Also, there was no toilet roll in the bathroom and locking the front door was tricky. Not the best experience!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The lodge was spotless and the beds comfy, which was great. It had all we needed, though the fridge was a bit tiny. The sofa bed was a little worn, but since we didn’t spend much time inside, it wasn’t a big deal.

Honestly, we weren’t impressed with the lodges. Inside, they felt more like static caravans and not very well maintained, especially considering they’re quite new. The bed had five slats missing, which was a bit annoying and the wardrobes only had broken hangers. It hadn’t been cleaned properly either-dirty crockery was put away and they don’t bother sweeping under the beds. Guttering was missing in patches and the bright festoon lights at night really don’t help with the blackout curtains. Not what we expected at all.

The place claimed luxury but honestly, it fell quite short of expectations overall.

The lodge was surprisingly spacious for our group of six and the hot tub was already heated when we arrived. Definitely a lovely touch! We all managed to sleep comfortably, which was great. Overall, a really nice stay, no complaints at all.

We had such a lovely stay here! The lodge was spotless and really comfy, perfect for unwinding. The site’s pub served up some proper tasty grub and the pool table was a bonus for a bit of fun. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Definitely a place we’d come back to!

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The lodge was tidy and comfortable, though more towels would’ve been handy, especially for the hot tub. An oven cloth or gloves would’ve been a nice touch. The pub was charming and the staff really friendly. Great value for money!

Honestly, the lodge was a bit cramped for five of us and the beds were pretty outdated - springs digging into our backs all night didn’t help! The hot tub was definitely a highlight, nice touch after a long day. The location was so remote that the WiFi and signal were pretty much non-existent, which meant the TVs didn't work at all during our stay. The onsite pub was lovely and the woman working there was super friendly, making the experience more enjoyable. Prices for food and drinks were really reasonable too. It lacked that cosy, homely vibe, probably because there weren’t many personal touches, but the staff’s friendliness did make up for some of it.

This spot is perfect if you want peace and quiet away from the hustle. The pub’s Thai food was really top notch. Hosts were super friendly from the moment we arrived, making it a lovely, welcoming stay altogether. We’ll be back!

Honestly, I was a bit nervous after reading some negative reviews, but we had a lovely weekend here. The hot tub was fantastic and the place feels pretty secluded, so remember to bring everything you need. The on-site pub serves great Thai food and breakfast was really tasty. Definitely planning to come back soon!

Getting to the site was quite the journey - five miles down a really bumpy single track, not ideal for your car at all. Once there, we found the nearby village of Metheringham, which has a few pubs, takeaways and a co-op, so not bad for basics. It’s about an hour’s drive to Anderby Creek, which is a lovely spot, but honestly, it’s a bit of a trek each way. The setting by the river is really nice, lots of countryside around, but the site itself could do with better upkeep and the lodges weren’t as clean as we’d hoped.

Honestly, our stay was pretty disappointing, especially considering the price we paid. The two-bedroom setup was really cramped for a family; we were hoping for a comfy lounge to unwind in, but it was basically just the dining table or the bed - not ideal. The place advertised being dog friendly, but there’s no fencing or gates, which made it quite stressful trying to relax with the dogs roaming around freely, especially near the road. The sunken hot tub was another letdown - getting in and out was awkward and felt a bit dangerous, so we only used it once. Plus, it definitely wasn’t the hot tub shown in the pictures. Things didn’t start well either - arriving to see a few caravans burnt out was a shock, not the nicest way to start a holiday. We seriously thought about leaving after just two days because it wasn’t relaxing at all, but decided to stick it out until the end. We usually go for log cabin breaks like Forest Holidays, so we know what to expect and this definitely wasn’t on par. The staff we spoke with were friendly and helpful, but honestly, the accommodation was just too small to really unwind. Not what we hoped for, sadly.

We had such a lovely stay! The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The new lodges are quiet and perfect for a quick getaway. Plus, our dog loved the river walks right from the site.
