We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge. It’s tucked away nicely, so super peaceful and perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a highlight! It’s our second visit now and we’ll definitely be returning again. Feels like a cosy home away from home.

We had an amazing week in Yorkshire and stayed in Oak 1 this March. The location was perfect for exploring the area-it’s so peaceful and quiet. The lodge was spotless, really spacious and well kitted out, with little touches like weighing scales and a sieve that you don’t often find. The hot tub was a highlight, super warm and perfect after a day out. Plenty of storage and hangers, plus Netflix on the TV. Only minor issue was cleaning the washing machine drawer before use, but we’d happily return!

Comfortable, stylish, great value.

We had a great stay overall. The lodges are really lovely and come with all the essentials, which made everything easy. With the stormy weather outside, coming back to such a cosy and warm place was perfect. We especially loved having a TV in the bedroom-nice touch! The only thing we’d suggest is better lighting from the entrance down the drive, but it didn’t ruin the experience at all.

We recently stayed at this lovely little spot for a week and honestly, it was just what we needed - super peaceful and pretty quiet. There are only five lodges here, but they’ve done a good job making sure each one feels private, thanks to the hedging between them. The decking looks out onto a grassy area and beyond that, fields, so it’s lovely to sit out with a coffee. You do hear a bit of traffic, but it’s not intrusive at all. The hot tub is sunk into the decking, which makes getting in and out really easy and there’s a wooden table with chairs plus a small circular BBQ on the deck too - perfect for evening meals. Parking’s right next to the lodge, which is handy. The kitchen is well-stocked - honestly, it had everything we needed, even a set of scales! The washing machine doubles as a dryer, so drying clothes wasn’t a hassle if you’re not keen on airers. The shower is a decent size and straightforward to use and the main bathroom has a deep bath with a shower over it, which is great for relaxing. The living room can get a bit drafty when the wind’s strong, but the electric stove-style fire keeps it cosy enough. The beds are comfy and clean, though we did notice some cobwebs and dust behind a set of drawers - maybe not cleaned as often as they should be. The lodge was spotless and nicely presented. The WiFi is a bit rubbish, honestly - it’s based on a mobile router on the 3 network, so it kept dropping out and when it was working, it was pretty slow, around 4mbps. Not really suitable for working or streaming videos, but fine for basic browsing. Overall, a lovely place to unwind!

We had a wonderful stay! The lodge’s beds and bedding were super comfy and everything you need in the kitchen was there-microwave, utensils, you name it. The private decking with those lovely views was a real highlight. Hot tub was spotless and so relaxing. Loved it!

The sofa wasn’t the comfiest and fitting six people on it was a challenge. But the beds were really good, the showers top-notch and the hot tub was lovely! Overall, a pretty decent lodge and we enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying here! The location is perfect for exploring, super peaceful and quiet. Only about 20 minutes to Askham Bar park and ride - definitely recommend for visiting York. Whitby is a must-see too. Melanie was so friendly and helpful, made us feel really welcome. Would stay again!

We honestly couldn’t find a single fault. The place was way bigger than expected and we really enjoyed our stay. Definitely a lovely experience all around!

We had to find last-minute accommodation because our previous plan fell through thanks to the weather. A quick call and luckily, there was no issue with availability. Melanie greeted us at the farm and she was genuinely lovely and friendly. The cabin itself was fantastic - peaceful location and just five cabins so it wasn’t crowded at all. We did have a small problem with the shower not draining properly, but Rupert sorted it out really quickly, within half an hour, which was great. He was such a nice guy to chat with. The kitchen was well-equipped and they even provided tea, coffee, milk and biscuits to get us started. Whether you want to explore or just relax in the hot tub, it’s a perfect spot. We loved it so much we’ve already booked again for later in the year!

We really liked the overall vibe of the place-spotlessly clean and in such a peaceful spot. It’s a lovely setting, perfect if you're after a quiet escape. However, we did find it a bit frustrating that we couldn’t park our van right outside the chalet, even though there was plenty of space and it wouldn’t have blocked anyone. No explanation was given, just a vague rule about no commercial vehicles. Also, not being able to charge our power-tool batteries was a bit of a pain, especially since there was no power on site either. Again, no reason was provided for that. These little things did affect our stay a bit. All in all, it’s a nice place, but a few more clear details would make it even better!

Perfect escape, peaceful and stress-free.

We really enjoyed our weekend here. The lodges had everything we needed and the surrounding scenery was absolutely lovely. During these strange times with coronavirus, check-in and check-out times were a bit strict, which is why the value for money score isn’t higher, but honestly, the staff were super friendly and unobtrusive. We’d definitely come back!

Honestly, we were really impressed with how much thought went into this place. The lodge had everything you could think of, all top quality. The hot tub was a real treat and those views? Absolutely breathtaking. We’ll be back for sure!

We Needed to get away from stressful life this was the most ideal place to go for nice walks great base to go to other locations the lodge was perfectly clean had everything you needed the hot tub was a dream to relaxing will most definitely return next year

Friendly arrival, excellent lodge that was clean and suited our family perfectly. Quiet setting far enough to be private and close to York and other areas for day trips out.

The lodge was easy to find, great information before and during. On site owners so helpful, but not intrusive. Lodges well appointed, beautiful views. Parking area, shopping delivered to the door. Would definitely recommend.

We had a fabulous long weekend here, the lodge was very clean, and everything was in really good condition, everything you could need was included. The view was stunning and it was very quiet area. Will definitely be visiting again

Stayed in Sycamore lodge. Had a lovely stay, fully equipped lodge, quiet location just what we wanted. Hot tub was fantastic and the owner even left us milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. 5*

Stayed for two nights hosts were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent perfect for a quiet getaway. The lodge was excellent, hot tub was very clean and well kept. Speakers built into lodge were a great edition. One small room for improvement would be to update the TV but wasn’t an issue. Will definitely be returning had an amazing time.
