Chesil Vista Holiday Park
South West of England Weymouth
View Accommodations

Chesil Vista Holiday Park has some of the most stunning views of all the caravan parks in Dorset.  Looking out over the Fleet Lagoon with a backdrop of the Portland Penninula this holiday park is highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing break in Dorset. One of the best things about this park is its proximity to Monkey World which makes a fantastic day out. Seeing the work the staff at Monkey World carry out providing a home for rescued Monkeys from around the world is an amazing experience.

The park is well served by buses so you can get out and about and explore all that sunny Dorset has to offer.  But if you would rather stay on the park and relax then that's fine too! With a heated indoor pool, sauna, fitness suite and wifi access there is plenty to do.  Kids will enjoy the play area and under 5s have a soft play area to themselves.

Accommodation at Chesil Vista Holiday Park is a choice of caravans and apartments.  The caravans have 2 or 3 bedrooms and the Heritage 6 and Heritage 8 have DVD players. The Heritage caravans are top of the range and provide a more luxurious base for your stay.  The Sandsfoot 6 and Sandsfoot 8 caravans are recommended for those on a budget but do not want to compromise on quality.

The apartments at Chesil Vista Holiday Park offer something a bit different.  The Chesil View Apartment is a first floor apartment sleeping 4 with a dishwasher.  This would suit couples or small families. It will cost you from £27 a night to stay at Chesil caravan park so it's really budget friendly too.

  • Indoor heated pool

Date of stay: 10th August 2018
Great caravan, stayed with partner and kids 11, 13 and 15 and Grandmother hence the accessible caravan as the shower room and chair were ideal for her. Good facilities, everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only thing we would change is to have another bedroom rather than use the fold up bed in the living room but this was still adequate for our needs.

Date of stay: 26th June 2017
The only suggestion here would be and this is a general over all makes and models in caravans is to make the main bathroom bigger so slightly larger people can actually get into the shower, far to compact.
Gordon, London
Date of stay: 24th June 2017
Apartment excellent except could not get cooker oven to work, there should be instructions for those of us who only cook by gas. Plent of storage space, could have done with a mini bin in the bathroom.
John, Ilkley
Date of stay: 17th June 2017
Great caravan for us
Phil, Fareham
Date of stay: 10th June 2017
The Avonmore 6 was a lovely static mobile home with a large living and dining area and a more than adequate kitchen. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a bit tight on space but it's a caravan so you've got to expect this. Overall it was a good, comfortable home for our week away.
Ronald, Bedfordshire
Date of stay: 10th June 2017
as my wife is in a wheel chair this site is very good and the club has ramps to all airier.
the road in and out of the site is on a hill and if you are in a mobility scoot in can be a bit of a problem. but on the plus side we will go back as it a nice site well keep .
the Bus stop is just out side the main gate but if you are in a wheel chair you must get a pass from the bus company. we did not do this. the car parking is good in Weymouth but you have to pay even if you have a blue badge.
Jennifer, Blockley, Gloucestershire
Date of stay: 20th May 2017
Our Avonmore was in the best position, very clean and comfortable. Would have that one again!

Chandra, Milton Keynes
Date of stay: 15th April 2017
This is the nicest and most comfortable caravan that we've ever stayed so far and we usually go on holiday parks every year. The porch is a nice addition as it offers more privacy on the front door and extra space outside the caravan. A few minor things that could have made it a 10. The caravan could have installed coat hooks on the wall and towel hooks inside the toilet or bathroom and a toilet bins.
We had a very pleasant, worthwhile and comfortable stay, glad I made the right choice in staying in your park.
Veronica, Harrow
Date of stay: 15th April 2017

Lovely caravan clean and good facilities. Slightly let down by the bedding, clean but very faded and threadbare. In a good location we had blue 64.
Stephen, Tetgury
Date of stay: 6th August 2016
I am a big lad and Rio 8 was large enough for the three of us. My only gripe was my feet hung over the end of the bed. I am 6ft 1. Other than that I can recommend the Rio 8

Date of stay: 16th July 2016
excellent caravan - could have done with a milk saucepan and some oven gloves. One toilet roll provided - there were two toilets.

It would have been nice to have had a welcome tray with some tea, coffee and milk.
Karen, Enfield
Date of stay: 27th June 2016
Very spacious, with everything we could wish for. We had two very excited three year olds, so the verandah, extra storage outside and lockable gate were a real bonus.
Neil, Southampton
Date of stay: 20th June 2016
I was very impressed with the caravan it was modern and clean . It was comfortable and a generous size for 7 adults and an infant .
Furniture and fittings were of a good standard and for a caravan the beds were reasonably comfy . It was a bonus to have two bathrooms which were generous in size .
Beverley, Leigh On Sea

I have stayed in many caravans over the last 30 years and this one was by far the best one. The layout and equipment were excellent. A really nice caravan that was very spacious.
Tracey, South Ockendon
Date of stay: 29th April 2016
The caravan was luxury it had all the comforts of home. We had a dishwasher, microwave, cooker, kettle and toaster so great for people on a budget. The only downside was the bedding i was not keen on that looked cheap compared to the luxury of the furniture.
Maggie, Kirkmichael, South Ayrshire
Date of stay: 25th April 2016

A lovely area to visit quite a bit to see or just relax if that's the preference. Some of the attractions can be quite expensive if you have a family.
Alison, Sidcup
Date of stay: 29th August 2015
The caravan was outstanding. However we had one teenager with us and the beds in kids room were too small. A ln older family style caravan would be welcome.

A lovely well kept holiday park, very helpful and friendly staff, great entertainment a great family park caravans spotless the only 1 think that would benefit this park is an outdoor swimming pool,
Loraine, London
Date of stay: 18th July 2015
There is a laundry room for guests to use but it would be nice to have an iron and ironing board in the caravan because not everybody wants to wLk in the rain to the laundry room to iron a pair of child's shorts! Not much to complain about, just an observation.
Malcolm, Orpington
Date of stay: 11th July 2015
excellent value for the price paid
Elle, Derby
Date of stay: 4th July 2015
Fantastic caravan. Loved eating dinner on the spacious balcony and it gave our small children somewhere outside to play safely without us standing over them. The caravan was spotless and almost seemed that we were the first to stay in it.

The views from this park are fantastic over the bay and a friendly local pub nearby ( the ferry bridge pub )and there is loads to see by day in Weymouth and Portland for all ages and the on site entertainment is one of the best selections I have seen and viewed.

My fiancee and I are in our late 30's and enjoyed the entertainment as did the children 8 & 15 so great fun for all ages, the prices (food, drink & supermarket) on the site were also very competitive.
Anne-marie, Nuneaton

Martin, Leicester
Date of stay: 25th October 2014
Could have done with DVD player for the TV. Also instructions on how to use dishwasher etc...We managed ok but think overall would help others. Also the heating went off after a set time and did not know how to make it stay on longer.
Les, Derby
Date of stay: 24th October 2014
Very good apartment could have been checked a little better.
Lights not working in the rooms, Chipped cup, and a kettle that would not turn its self off.
Karen, Coventry

Date of stay: 7th June 2014
We really enjoyed our holiday. The only complaint was we were in a disable caravan with two small children,if there had been a gate on the bottom of the decking we could have had the door open .But apart from that we had a lovely holiday, and would go back again. The staff were excellent, and very helpfull.
Margaret
Very good short break the family enjoyed our stay.
Lorraine
Lovely, comfortable caravan. Fantastic evening entertainment. Had great time.
Pamela
Excellent site facilities and caravan , clean and well presented. Lovely pool and club house with entertainment. All staff very helpful and friendly 😄
Ian
A SMALL, FRIENDLY SITE THAT IS VERY TIDY, WITH LOVELY ACCOMODATION AND LOVELY STAFF THROUGHOUT.
Richard
Lovely site at the gateway to so many attractions. Unfortunately our child was in hospital for the first two days and unable to use the swimming facilities after then but we still found lots to do. Friendly staff.
Rebecca
Took my twin 4yo here in easter. We had the best time, great location and facilities. Highly recommend.
Amanda
The park and staff were lovely, caravan was spotless and had everything we needed. The only thing we were disappointed with was the fact that the football and basketball area was unusable. Unfortunately there was quite a lot of rain before and during our stay which meant the football and basketball area was flooded. Obviously the holiday park can't help the weather but if they had a hard playing surface for the basketball area instead of grass this area could still have been used, giving something for the slightly older kids to do.

Fun Days Out near Chesil Vista Holiday Park

about 9 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
about 9 Miles
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
about 13 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
about 23 Miles
The perfect place to visit on a rainy day this large Sealife Centre is currently offering 2 tickets for £15.00 when you book online. Top attractions include the amazing shark tunnel, the rock pools and the otter enclosure. This year Loch Lomond Sealife Centre is also home to Cammy - the only Giant Sea Turtle in Scotland! The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
about 37 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
