Seadown Park is a caravan park in Dorset which will appeal to those looking for some peace and quiet and a coastal setting. The beautiful Charmouth Valley is the ideal location for families and couples alike. There is so much to do in the area from delightful coastal walks to daytrips to local seaside resorts such as Lyme Regis.

Within the park itself you have direct access to the beach making this perfect for families with young children. For the more active there is an array of sports activities including badminton, basketball, outdoor skittles and table tennis.  For your convenience there is also an on site shop as well as a launderette.

You can select from a range of caravans to suit your needs. All of the caravans have TV, kitchen with microwave, bedlinen and duvets, and beds are made up for your arrival. Some recommended caravans include the Dorest Sunset which has one double and one twin room. The Dorset Horizon is another good choice and is a 12ft luxury caravan sleeping 4-6.  For larger parties the Dorset Mirage is recommended.  This 12ft superior caravan is double glazed and centrally heated. The Mirage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6.

Fun Days Out in Dorset

Monkey World

This has to be our favourite attraction in the area located amidst the woodland area of Dorset.  This is a monkey sanctuary and you will get the unique opportunity to see all of the great work that's carried out by the staff - and of course see the 160 plus primates for yourself. Situated over 65 acres this is a fantastic environment for the monkeys.

Dorset Teddy Bear Museum

If you like museums then this is one with a difference.  Families will love wondering around this building looking at the earliest antique teddy bears and more modern teddy bears from today.  A real highlight is Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears which are hard to miss!  This popular Dorset attraction is also excellent value for money.

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a must if you are enjoying a family holiday to Dorset. The Majestic gardens are simply stunning and include formal areas with gorgeous floral displays as well as a pretty terrace, a temple and a lake. The animal park area is great fun for children with plenty of friendly creatures including goats and adorable pot bellied pigs. The site also has a visitors centre with shop. At well under £20.00 for a family ticked it isExcellent value too.

The caravan was lovely and modern,It was heated and double glazed...much appreciated during the evenings. The kitchen has a full sized cooker and small fridge but I felt it needed a larger fridge/freezer. the bedrooms were all a good size although the windows were difficult to open and close...the catches needed fixing. The caravan definately needs a concrete/slabbed pathway from the road to the door....due to heavy rain earlier in the week the grass pathway was slippy and dangerous to walk on,with your feet sinking into the mud making the caravan muddy inside.

The site was clean and tidy. Right next to the beach, with its lovely museum and where you can fossil hunt to your heart's content. Staff friendly and helpful. The caravan was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.
Amanda
This was a peaceful and well maintained park. The location was fabulous having direct access to the rear of the park straight onto the fossil hunting beach where there is also a heritage centre that organise fossil hunting trips or tools to hire to assist in the process. The shops, cafe and fish and chip shop / restuarant were a short 5 minute walk into the small centre. Charmouth is very near to stunning places like Lyme Regis and Beer in Devon if you want to explore outside of the village, both are within a 10 and 25 min car journey; Charmouth itself is a small and quiet village. Our caravan was well equipped and very clean. During our stay a local Pizza baking van came to the site making delicious fresh pizzas to take away. My 3 children and I loved this place so much we fully intend to return next year.
Sandra
This site is situated within walking distance of the great fossil hunting beach. When the tides are right you can walk to Lyme Regis along the beach/rocks. The site does not have many facilities- but we like that.
Nicola
The park is lovely and quiet. The caravan was spacious, well equipped and clean especially as it was a dog friendly caravan. A great location for walks along the beach. The only complaint I would have is that it was a very wet week when we stayed and our caravan didn't have a path so we had to slip and slide through the mud to get to the door and with a dog this was a pain. Then trying to stop the mud being carried into the caravan we ended up using one of our own towels as a door mat!
Christine
A very enjoyable and well appointed site for a relaxing break.
Simon
The caravan we had was spacious, modern and clean set near to the beach.A small town is within walking distance and you can walk along the coastline to Lyme Regis but check the times of the tides.Unfortunately due to the previous wet weather the grass surrounding the caravans and up to their entry steps, was a mud pit...making it difficult to walk on to the caravans and impossible to park on.This area needs to be paved. Although there are pleasant areas to walk to ,it is lovely to drive to Lyme Regis and Weymouth and spend a few hours enjoying the harbour, shops and beach. The park really needs a club house and better wi-fi .
John
We booked Mon to Fri. We were blessed with the most gorgeous weather on the Wed. Thurs and Fri in which to explore the area and go on to The Swannery both of which are superb.
