We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners are super friendly but not overbearing, which we appreciated. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed and we even enjoyed using the BBQ one night. The hot tub was a real highlight! We’d definitely come back and already told our friends about it. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a fantastic week at this place in Thaxted! The cottage really is lovely and the hot tub was such a treat, especially during the scorching weather - it was nice and cool, perfect for cooling down. Our two mini dachshunds had a great time making friends in the village, which was lovely to see. The hosts were super welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed watching the planes land since it’s close to Stansted’s flight path. It’s definitely somewhere we’d recommend for a relaxed getaway with your furry friends!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, nestled on a working farm but surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such lovely people, really friendly and welcoming. The place itself is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didn’t want to leave! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some cracking restaurants like The Star and The Maypole-definitely recommend this spot!

We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were super friendly and helpful without being intrusive, which we appreciated. The fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. We even enjoyed using the BBQ one evening. The hot tub was fantastic! We’d definitely come back and already suggested it to mates. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was really well equipped and super cosy, which was perfect given the rainy December weather. The bath was lovely and the shower was spacious - just what we needed. The location is ideal, especially if you have dogs that dislike fireworks, since it’s quite remote. No noise at all from the flight path either, so don’t worry about that. Thanks a lot!

We had a lovely stay at this place, nestled in such a peaceful and private spot. The owners were genuinely friendly and always ready to help if needed, but it never felt intrusive. The hot tub was a real treat after a long cycle day! One thing to mention, though, is that the cottage is quite close to Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us after a while, but if you’re sensitive to noise, it’s something to consider. Overall, we’d definitely come back!

We had such a great weekend staying here! The place was perfect for what we needed and we’re already planning to return. Our dogs absolutely adored the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it! Honestly, it made for a really happy trip for everyone involved, pups and hoomans alike.

We had such a lovely stay at this cottage! The place is spotlessly kept and super well equipped. Loads of great walks right outside the door, which our dog loved. The host was really friendly and quick to respond, making everything easy. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. We’ll definitely return - top value and highly recommended!

The beds were comfy and the hot tub was a real treat after a day out. The owners were lovely-friendly, helpful and full of local tips. Plus, we got to try some fantastic homegrown peppers. We’d definitely come back!

The place itself is adorable, with charming half-timbered walls and a really strong shower that we loved. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made us feel right at home. Date of stay: 30th September 2024
We had a fantastic week at Oathill Farm Lodges! The lodges had everything we needed and the hot tub was such a treat after a day out. We really appreciated the lack of internet - it was a perfect chance to unwind and spend proper quality time together as a family. You could tell the lodge was dog-friendly, especially with the slightly worn sofa, but honestly, it didn’t impact comfort at all. The location is brilliant, with loads of things nearby that are great for both kids and dogs - even a farm to visit! Huge thanks to Nicky and Adrian for such a warm welcome and all their local tips. We loved it!

If you're looking for a quiet location set in lovely countryside, this is ideal. There aren't any facilities on site, but the accommodation was excellent and all the staff we met were great.
Pauline
A lovely lodge in a rural setting but within reach of the coast and main towns of Somerset and Dorset. We had a very warm welcome from the site managers and we were impressed with how tidy and clean they kept the site. Thank you to them also for the information they gave us about walks in the locality. It really made our holiday one to remember.
Laura
Our stay at Oathill was absolutely lovely, we will be back. Owners super friendly, lodge was spotless 100%
Ron
Perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Lack of internet access was a mixed blessing. Thoroughly recommended.
Donna
Warm welcome, lovely quiet spot.
Amanda
Had a very enjoyable and relaxing week at Oathill. The hot tub was great and checked daily to ensure the water quality was good. I feel the lodge would benefit from a proper shower instead of the tap attachment, although we used the onsite showers and due to only the lodges being in use there were no queues, but I can imagine them being very busy once more tents/caravans were on the site. The dog walking field is a great idea, ours especially enjoyed a run off lead, despite running into a wire fence due to the long grass on the perimeter! We will definitely return one day ?
Clare
We had a fabulous time at Oat Hill Farm, staying in Cherry Tree lodge. The setting was peaceful and beautiful and we would have liked more time to explore the area. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our only query was although we enjoyed meeting the emus on the farm, we decided against following the footpath through their field as we weren't sure if they would have welcomed us!
Caroline
My two sisters and I booked this for a weekend getaway and it was everything we hoped for. the facilities were great and the hot tub very welcome. Everything was clean and comfortable and I'd definitely look to come back again even if we did it the traditional camping way.
Valerie
Beautiful lodge in small but stunning grounds. Ideal for a quiet break. Lodge was immaculate and was very well equipped. Very clean and had wow factor when first entered property. Grounds immaculate. Manager came to see if we were happy.Would return again.
Steve
