Sandy Glade Holiday Park
South West of England Burnham-on-Sea
View Accommodations

Enjoy all the West Country has to offer at this family friendly holiday park just a few minutes walk from the sandy beaches of Berrow and Brean. It's a fabulous location, not far from Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare - and within easy reach of the amazing Cheddar Gorge.

Sandy Glade has tons of facilities for the whole family - an indoor heated pool, sauna, children's clubs and adventure playground, plus a shop, café, bar and clubhouse with nightly entertainment. You'll find lots of activities in the surrounding area too - from water skiing at Woolavington to horse riding at Red Park in Williton.

There's a choice of lodges and chalets, all set amongst spectacular scenery with outstanding views. We like Royal Gold Lodge - it sleeps six people in three bedrooms (and has extra sleeping space in the lounge for two) and has a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player, central heating and a verandah.

The Old Thatched Cottage at Weston-super-Mare is one of the oldest buildings in the town, and offers a tantalising choice of British and Mediterranean food. The historic coastal town of Barry is just 14 miles away with a great choice of shops, restaurants and pubs.

  • Indoor heated pool

We had a great holiday the only poor point was the heated pool which was not really hot enough for me but then I am an oap. My grand children also said the pool was a little cold however they did have a good time. We found a very good Italian restaurant in burnham on sea, which we visited twice.
Bev, Bicester
Date of stay: 1st June 2018
Rented a Chalet, was very comfortable and adequately stocked with crockery, Cutlery, pots and pans. Chalet was clean, all beds made up. The shower had hot water the only thing I have to say is that the toilet area requires some work to make it look better.

Date of stay: 23rd March 2018
The chalet (gold plus 3) was clean and had everything in it that we would want ......... except for hot water! We had to call out the maintainence guy 3 times, the first time it was fixed and for an hour we had hot water, second time we had hot water for ten minutes, third time for an hour. After that we gave up and for the rest of our stay the only time we had hot water was when we boiled the kettle. Real shame because aside from that the chalet was one of the nicest we've stayed in.
John, Brierley Hill

The chalet was comfortable, well equipped, and clean.
We cooked a lot of meals ourselves and there were ample pans, oven trays, and utensils.
The children were pleased with their room and that there was a TV.

Date of stay: 12th August 2017
This was our first time staying in a chalet, we usually use a caravan or love the john fowler compact houses. We were a little worried after reading reviews. But the chalet its self was quite nice and modernish. Bedrooms and storage were nice and comfy. Nice sofas and dining set. The kitchen appliances were a little dated, but perfectly usable. Double glazing and large sliding doors. Plenty of space too. I was very surprised and would stay in one again. The only thing i found wasn't all that great was the bathroom. The floor felt very sticky and slippery when we got there, but there was a strong smell of bleach so it could have been that. They were fine after a wipe. It wasn't cleaned very well, dirt residue around taps ect. There were also no blinds witch i found a little embarrassing as more chalets looked onto the bathroom. I didn't complain. I gave it a quick clean myself. It was only for a week after all. Other than that, we were very happy, this was our third holiday with john fowler and we look forward to booking our next holiday.

The chalet was well equipped had everything you needed for your stay , could do a bit more space if your cooking to dish out food but your on holidays so thankfully I didn't have to cook that much. There is a nice green outside the chalet for the children to play always kept nice and clean.

We were upgraded to a silver 2 bed chalet so scores I have given relate to that. Comfortable clean & ideal for family
Sarah, Ipswich
Date of stay: 18th June 2016
We stayed in a luxury lodge which was perfect. It had everything you would expect you would need for a week away. Plenty of space (although there were only 3 of us) lovely outdoor seating area, and the hot tub. Beaches were a short walk away. Some would say the park is away from everywhere but we found it great. We went to the mini club disco which little one loved but the centre was a bit dingey, as was the pool area. The kids will love it though. Only negatives were the poil had to close due to an accident! Notices and checks for swimming nappies would work a treat for the unpotty trained bottoms would save you lot hassle and give your customers a facility they've paid for. We also prebooked a cot to save messing around. It wasn't in our accommodation when we arrived so breakfast was fun at 6am! Somerset is lovely, the accommodation was perfect. The holiday can be what ever you make it!
Debbie, Gillingham Kent

Amy, Bristol
Date of stay: 12th October 2015
Myself, my partner & two children had great fun here. My children loved the night time entertainment and even thought the adult's games were fun to watch. The beach is a short walk away and the fun fair is within easy reach.
Our accommodation appeared to be newly refurbished. I think it's one of the best chalets we've ever stayed in(& we've been in quite a few).
We will definitely visit again.
Ray, West Bromwich

Date of stay: 3rd July 2015
The caravan was nice and clean and a decent size. Second bedroom was a little on the small size but adequate. The facilities were good and there was a small swing area right outside so the children could go and play. Could park right outside caravan too. When we had a problem with out shower the maintenance staff dealt with it promptly. Overall we were very impressed with the accommodation!

First caravan holiday with 4 1/2 yr old. Caravan was modern with nice living and bathroom facilities although bedrooms were very small but cosy! Swimming pool good although would have liked it to be opened later than 5pm. Friendly staff. Had issues with two chairs that broke but these were replaced within 24hrs. Surrounding area lovely with sandy beaches close by and lots to do within 1/2 hr drive away. Park quiet which was nice. Would visit again.

Hilary, South Shields
Date of stay: 15th March 2014
There were 6 of us in the accommodation and it didn't feel crowded. The only problem was the hot water. It was difficult for all of us to take showers but we took turns - some of us in the morning and some at night. Cooking facilities were really good, though we had to ask for extra plates and cutlery - there wasn't enough, but someone brought them straight away. Overall we were really happy.
Elaine

You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme.  This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island.  And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see.  This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online.  This attraction is open until the end of October. Check out their website to see some fantastic video podcasts of the park.
