Lakeside Holiday Park

just returned from our 3rd visit to Lakeside, what can we say ? Fantastic site all round,just checking dates for our next visit.

Fantastic place have been going there with family for nearly 20 years it's the best park it's just like being with A big family as they all make u feel as if your one of their own personally we won't stay any where else .

Nice clean caravan, site is a nice easy walk to the sea front and town , check in was easy and quick

Not sure what Heron 6 is or means as not explained or any guidance given on site, just an A4 map showing the site layout that needed review. If Heron 6 is the caravan type, it was a 4 berth caravan on a 169 caravan site where every caravan is so close you can see into neighbouring caravans. Very bland site. Caravan all the minimal kitchenware.

Great weekend away. Fishing for my husband, then a walk into burnham on sea in the afternoon. Perfect ????

Far too many commercial vehicles, taking up parking spaces & leaving early for work. NOT my idea of peaceful relaxing holiday, just the opposite.

Not what we expected caravan was unclean dog wee smell was overpowering new carpet was put down but needed to clean the floors before fitting did not mask smell poor parking grass was not cut so had wet feet we left 2 days early because of it

Quietly situated. Bathroom very small and cramped. Everything was clean and worked as it should.

We have been many times over 20years, but no one seems to care anymore about what you pay for. Tray in oven still had bacon fat on and dishes dirty. By the time you clean everything and make your own beds ( even though you paid for them to be made ) it wasn't worth going for three nights. Really disappointed

Caravan was a little dated however the price reflected this, overall it was comfortable stay with everything you needed available

The caravan was clean and tidy. bedroom was a bit small for my liking but most are. Quite good for a long weekend.

Scissors provided needed to be replaced everything else was fine

Overall really goodMattress on the bed was starting to hurt my back after a week but that could be due to it being narrow compared to my bed at home

Shocking. There's not one good thing to say about our stay. Let's start with the caravan: toilet was broken it was constantly flushing, shower was covered in pink mould and *****, the shower head holder was broken it couldn't be adjusted leaving it straight on your face couldn't be angled down. The mattress in the main bedroom smelt like urine, and was covered in dog hair. In fact the whole caravan needed a hoover it was filthy. Tv was barely visible from the sofa id say 12 inch screen, cooker was disgusting there was food stuck in the crevices. The caravan site itself was run down, long grass rubbish everywhere. DO NOT EAT AT THERE ONSITE RESTAURANT it is absolutely disgusting, food was burnt my husband ordered a dirty burger ironically it came out looking like they rolled it round the floor and wiped there bottom on it. How my kids didn't get food poisoning from the fish fingers and chips the oil hasn't been change for a long time it was horrific. The onsite entertainment was questionable with a cheap creepy character bunny looking like something out of five nights of freddies it was terrifying. The swimming pool was filthy, they closed the pool multiple times after testing positive for bacteria the pool was freezing (2024 it was heated) (We stayed last year 2024 and had the most amazing time and couldn't wait to come back, we were so very disappointed this time around we won't stay on this site again we left a day early it was that bad)

had a very nice week in a basic, but very clean caravan, did not now what to expect after reading some bad reviews but all in all a very nice surprise to find everything was spot on, shows not to be put off by bad reviews find out for yourself, outdoor swimming pool is open and very clean being enjoyed by many, will be going back.

Great position looking over the lake. The single beds are on the narrow side and there’s not a lot of room in the bedrooms. There was only 4 dining chairs in a caravan that could sleep 8, but the reality would be where would you put the chairs? Most of the time during our stay there was only 3 of us.

Caravan was good except for parking as you had to walk over uneven ground.

Nice holiday but got heart failure and copd the steps to the caravan were difficult for me but never mind it's not your fault

We loved the cottage! Perfect peaceful spot for us, far from busy streets. The hot tub was fantastic and the owners were really friendly and respectful. Just right!

Had a nice holiday just the caravan needed some things fixed and should had refund due to being so cold there with the windows broken

Could do with a vacuum cleaner or carpet sweeper other than that no complaints

The oven works well, but a second shelf would be a real help in the kitchen. Hot water’s lovely!

The lack of central heating was a bit chilly and the tiny TV was a surprise-my laptop’s bigger! Still, the place was clean and tidy, which was nice.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage! It’s tucked away on a working farm, so it's super private but still close enough to enjoy the surroundings. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people. The place itself is really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. The bed was so comfy, we slept like logs. The garden is perfect for dogs - completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plus, Thaxted’s got some cracking restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. We’d definitely recommend it!

We had a really lovely time! Sharon and Robert were such friendly hosts and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie, our dog. The location was brilliant - plenty of nice walks and charming villages like Thaxted nearby. Honestly, we left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. Definitely a break we’ll remember fondly!

Absolutely loved our stay at Goddards Mead! The cottage was perfect in every aspect. We’ll definitely return soon!

Really enjoyable time, nice quiet location. Would definitely visit again.

As always a great team of staff helpful and friendly the vans clean and well kept

Good site conveniently situated

On our 2nd or 3rd day a window in the lounge wouldn’t open so we went to report it at reception and within 5 mins a man came & repaired it. Fantastic service.

Really good

The van was presented really well spotlessy clean you felt like you could walk in and use all the kitchen things without having to wash everything.

Well laid out park in quiet and pleasant surroundings. short walk to the sea,a real bonus.

Stayed for a week, just me and my husband. Lovely quiet location caravan was spotless and adequate for our needs. May be okay for families with small children, not much on site for older kids. Easy to get around to the different beaches and sights. Would stay here again.

Lovely quiet site. The evening entertainment was brilliant especially when the children can be involved when it came to bingo. Only downside was the pool was closed but hopefully it may be open the next time we go.
