We had a lovely time! Sharon and Robert really went out of their way to make us feel at home, which we appreciated a lot. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie’s needs-secure and cosy. The location was fantastic for walks and we loved exploring Thaxted and the nearby villages. Honestly, it was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a fantastic weekend here! The place was just what we needed and we’re already planning to return. Our dogs really enjoyed the underfloor heating and the garden was perfect for them to play in. Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it, but she’s fine now. Both pups and us had a lovely time!

We stayed at this lovely cottage on a working farm and honestly, it was perfect for what we needed-really private and peaceful. Robert and Sharon are such warm, friendly hosts, making us feel right at home. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy, comfy bed. The garden’s super secluded, dog-proof and nicely furnished. Plus, there are loads of walks nearby. Thaxted’s got some decent restaurants too, like The Star and The Maypole. We’d definitely recommend it!

The owners were really welcoming and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. White Oak really impressed us! The lodge felt fresh and cosy, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only tiny issues were the lack of drawers in the twin bedrooms, making storage a bit tight and a larger frying pan would’ve been handy in the kitchen. But honestly, these are minor points. We’d happily return anytime - it’s a lovely place and well worth a visit. Can’t wait to go back!

Our week at the cottage was lovely! We brought along our two mini daschunds and they really loved the place, making friends with other dogs in the village of Thaxted. The highlight was definitely the hot tub - perfect for the scorching weather, especially since it was cooled for a more refreshing dip. The hosts were genuinely friendly and welcoming, it was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily. Being close to Stansted’s flight path was quite fun too; watching the planes land added a bit of entertainment to our stay. Would happily recommend!

All my college buddies had a get together @CFWP. Cottage(Birch) was excellent and neatly maintained. Facilities were nice. Very peaceful location, just couple of mins drive to the grocery shops. Lake side view is amazing and had fun with swimming in the lake during the hot weather. It was few mins drive to cotsworld attractions where we covered all the tourist spots in 2 days. Overall 3 nights stay was memorable and amazing experience. While booking we thought we spend little bit expensive for stay but after visiting the location and room it was worth paying. I love to take my family here whenever I get a chance.

Had a fantastic time and are trying to organise going back again asap. Really great atmosphere with lots to do and the lodges were great. The site could do with its own shop to cater for the site but it does have a sign saying one is being built in March 2023 .

We didn't use a lot of the facilities, however those participating in water sports on the lake seemed to be having a great time! We did use the cafe once for breakfast which was disappointing. The eggs were all over cooked and I don't think the chef had ever mad eggs royal before because it wasn't served with hollandaise sauce over the top (we had to ask for some). However, the staff were very apologetic to our complaint and we received free drinks in an attempt to rectify the situation.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Willow lodge and loved it. Would have stayed longer but was fully booked. Location was lovely, lodge well equipped and hot tub was great. Staff great too. Very minor point, a parasol would have been handy for the patio area to cope with the heat. Would definitely book again. Thank you.

Lovely location position of our lodge really good large patio area great hot tub good quality items and enough of everything lovely welcome pack. Lake and area kept very neat and tidy. Play areas for children could do with some swings we had 3 and 5 year olds. Ant problem in lodge kitchen we reported when we left but not a deal breaker!
