The cottage is really charming and perfect for a peaceful escape. Just a heads up, you’ll hear planes at night since it's close to Stanstead. The hot tub is a real bonus!

We had a really lovely stay here! The place is tucked away in a quiet, private spot - perfect for a relaxing break. The owners are super friendly and always happy to help without intruding on your privacy. The hot tub was a real highlight after cycling all day. The only thing to note is the noise from planes overhead since it’s right under Stansted’s flight path. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didn’t spoil our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay overall, but the restaurant could use some improvement. Also, the directions from the M4 were quite unclear, which was tricky since we don’t have a sat nav yet-ended up getting quite lost trying to find the place. Still, lovely holiday!

The owners are genuinely lovely and welcoming, really went above and beyond when the storm knocked out the power. The place is spotless, cosy and well-equipped. Our dog loved the secure garden and we all enjoyed the hot tub!

We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage tucked away on a working farm, which kept it surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people who made us feel very welcome. The place is super spacious, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. The bed was incredibly comfy after long walks around the area. The garden is perfect for dogs-secure and nicely furnished. We explored nearby Thaxted, enjoying meals at The Star and The Maypole; even The Swan and Indian were pretty decent. Highly recommend!

We really appreciated the effort Rob and Sharon put into converting this old building with so much care. From the warm welcome we received from them and Bonnie, it felt like staying with friends. The location in Essex is perfect for exploring - we loved wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages, soaking in the history. Goddard’s Mead has everything you need for a chilled, comfy stay. Definitely recommend if you’re after a relaxing break!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. It’s a bit remote, about 20 minutes through lovely countryside to the nearest shop, but that’s part of the charm. The pool was great, though it was lane swimming because of Covid. We’d definitely come back!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s super comfy. It’s great knowing you can chill inside if the weather turns sour. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the gym and pool are just a short walk away, with extra Covid safety measures in place. Definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us really warm, which was perfect given the rainy December weather. The bath was lovely and the shower was big enough to relax in after a long day. Being near the flight path didn’t bother us at all - don’t let it put you off. Ideal spot for dogs who dislike fireworks, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Thanks so much!

We had such a lovely weekend here! The place was perfect for what we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. Our dogs had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating - they were so cosy! The garden was a hit too. Luna wagged her tail so much she strained it, but she’s fine now. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay overall, but a few things could be improved. The directions from the M4 were pretty unclear, which made finding the place tricky since we don’t use sat nav often. Also, the restaurant was a bit disappointing. Still, a lovely holiday!

The lodges are in wooded areas and are really lovely. So quiet everywhere. Very roomy with everything provided we may need. The staff so friendly, helpful and informative. The pool really nice. All facilities perfect. We didn't eat at the restaurant or coffee shop but saw the meals provided and they looked really good. We are going to book a return visit.

Great experience and best location :)
Amy
Visited Pantglas Hall in the January and really loved the lodge that we stayed in.... So went back again in March but upgraded to a bigger lodge which was also beautiful and very cosy and has everything there that you need it's like from house to house . Used the pool & sauna which was nice to chill in the evenings there after long coastal walks.... Only did have a bit of a bad experience this time round the last evening before returning home. Me and my mother visited the pool were in the changing rooms there are baskets in which you leave your belongings obviously you wouldn't leave valuable belongs within there but when returning back to the changing rooms someone had taken my sliders my mams vest top and a local woman's adidas jumper from in our baskets. Which I find is absolutely disgusting, but even after that mishap overall enjoyed our stay at the Pantglas Hall and would definitely visit again... But with leaving all my belongs at the pool side in sight.
Louise
We had a wonderful stay in our cabin. We enjoyed the facilities on site and was in a good central area of South Wales so lots to see in the local area. We'd be returning in the future
Gerrit
Fantastic, wonderfully quiet, small-scale park in beautiful surroundings. Great service by very friendly people. We will definitely come back.
