Visitor Reviews of The Village Holiday Park

Emma Roberts
Date of stay: 22nd June 2024
We stayed in a caravan that was quite spacious for us and there were some nice little touches like toiletries provided, which was a bonus. However, the overall condition was quite disappointing. When we arrived, the balcony outside looked very old and weathered, with the gate almost hanging off - it honestly looked tired and neglected. The neighbouring van was just as rundown, with visible signs of wear and tear. We also noticed stagnant water underneath the balcony, which wasn’t ideal. Inside, there were quite a few issues too. Light fittings lacked covers, some bulbs were missing and the furniture was badly stained. Although it states the beds are made up, ours weren’t and when we opened the bedding packets, the linen inside was ripped and stained, so we had to use our own. The wall panels around the window were loose and not attached properly. There were other small things like the loo seat not being cleaned properly, being loose and a bit dangerous, plus a leaking toilet and lots of cobwebs - not what we expected. Sadly, there was no wifi down in the village either. The van really needed some TLC and a good once-over to tidy it up. The bed was comfy, but the sofa was stained and stale, needing a proper clean. Overall, it felt like it just wasn’t maintained well enough.

The caravan looked nothing like the pictures and it was freezing cold. Won't be back.

Good overall, just a bit old-fashioned.

The caravan was really lovely and comfy, which we appreciated after a long journey. We did worry a bit since we had asked for a no-pets place, but everything seemed spotless. The crockery, duvets, pillows and welcome pack were all spot on!

We had a lovely stay, honestly couldn’t fault it. The receptionist was new but really went above and beyond. The caravan was super clean and they even provided a bowl and bed for our dog. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed in a lovely caravan and honestly, we were a bit worried since we asked for no pets but still wondered if dogs had stayed there before. The crockery, duvets, pillows and welcome pack really made us feel at home. Nice touch!

A wonderful quiet site
Kathryn
Beautiful quiet clean site, lovely caravan, helpful friendly staff.
Gordon
We had a wonderful fortnight. The caravan was exceptionally clean and well-kept. I have rated facilities at 8 rather than 10 because there is a shelf in the indoor swimming pool, which is marked by a black line, but with no indication that there is a sharp drop rather than a slope. My wife fell off it, hurting her leg and arm. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

WILL LOOK FOR MY 2023 HOLIDAYS ON YOUR SITE FOR THE GOOD PRICES YOU TEND TO QUOTE THANKS
Sandra
Didn't use facilities, no reflection on the park, bar manager in particular very friendly and accommodating and welcoming. We will come back.
