Clarach Bay Holiday Village

We just got back from a week at Goddards Mead and had such a lovely time. The cottage had everything we needed and was super comfy. The hosts were really friendly and even though it’s on a working farm, it felt so peaceful and relaxing!

Really enjoyed the walk, the fields were beautiful and the dogs loved exploring everywhere! Great day out.

This place really is a good place. The hot tub was a lovely touch, perfect for relaxing evenings. The house is well kitted out and everyone was super friendly. If you want a peaceful escape, this is it!

We had such a lovely stay at this good place! The location is truly peaceful and private, perfect for a relaxing break. The owners were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, without intruding on our privacy. The hot tub was a real highlight after cycling all day. One thing to keep in mind-it's right under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be an issue if you're noise-sensitive. All in all, we’d definitely return!

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy little cottage! It’s perfectly tucked away for peace but still close enough to enjoy local shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating kept everything super warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to return for a longer stay soon!

We stayed in the caravan recently and honestly, it was quite nice for a basic place. Everything was spotless and the sheets were all wrapped up in plastic, which was a nice touch. There were little extras like washing up liquid too. We weren’t told about the heaters, but it turned out they had heaters in every room, including the bathroom. A pleasant surprise!

Really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was lovely and the jacuzzi was a real highlight.

The fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around safely. The place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and a great hot tub-definitely a highlight! We stayed in the dog-friendly Gold Plus Two, all on our own after losing our boy just before the holiday. The caravan was truly impressive-spotlessly clean and well-maintained, we couldn’t fault it at all!

The garden is perfect for dogs-completely enclosed and with nice furniture. We also enjoyed exploring the nearby walks and had some great meals in Thaxted, especially at The Star and The Maypole. Honestly, we’d definitely recommend it!

We stayed here for a week in July with our two small dachshunds and it was such a lovely experience! The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was a real highlight, especially since the weather was scorching. It was great to see the hosts being so welcoming; you could tell they genuinely cared. Watching the planes land near Stansted was quite entertaining too, even if it’s a bit noisy at times. The dogs loved making new friends in the village of Thaxted and we’d definitely recommend Hide for a relaxing getaway. We’ll be back!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and honestly, it’s a lovely spot. The owners, Rob & Sharon, really put effort into restoring this historic building with care and they’re super welcoming, as is Bonnie. The place has everything for a comfy, relaxing visit. The location is perfect-nestled in a nice part of Essex. We’d definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages to soak up some local history and charming sights. It’s well worth the trip!

Fantastic family holiday!!!!

Two things that i would like to see are somewhere to get vegi food and bacon butties/brunch/hot drinks in a morning.

Excellent food including wood fire pizza, traditional fish and chips and burgers, crepes, ice cream. Bed extremely comfortable. Type of customers are disappointing as they complained over prices which were actually reflective of the current climate. Seagulls noisy, but still had a great sleep. Really helpful staff and good evening entertainment.

The location is great, it has direct access to the beach. There are plenty of food options and we found the pricing very reasonable. The caravan was great too, it had everything we needed for our stay and It was spotlessly clean. The location of the caravan was also great, at first we were a little concerned as it was right next to the pool but there wasn’t too much noise apart from the seagulls on the roof. The park facilities such as the pool and entertainment were also good. We took our 3 year old granddaughter and she had a great time, there was plenty to keep her entertained.The staff were all friendly and more than happy to help. The only negative thing was the chippy. They only cook one order at a time which caused a backlog and long waiting time. We would definitely recommend this park and would return.

Lovely site in a fabulous location. The caravan was first rate and we had a warm welcome from the staff. Lost a point for on site facilities as we didn't use all of them so can't comment, but there was plenty to do! Would definitely visit again and recommend. (Remember to log out of your Netflix when you leave...!) ?

Lovely site quite friendly staff caravan was clean the only issue I had was the rubbish being left on the site and beach needs more maintenance to ensure this doesn't happen apart from that it's a lovely place

I only booked this on a whim, best decision I ever made. Superb location, onsite facilities are brilliant, staff are friendly and so helpful, evening entertainment in the club is brilliant. Everything is very clean. Would recommend 100%. Defo booking again for 2023
