We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable. The place itself has everything you need for a comfy and relaxing break. It’s perfectly situated in Essex and we definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages - so much history and charming architecture to enjoy!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage. The owners were genuinely warm and helpful, making us feel right at home. The place itself is charming with its traditional half-timbered look and the shower is surprisingly powerful for such a quaint spot. We especially enjoyed the comfy bed and the well-equipped kitchen. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus and the area offers some great walks to Thaxted. Spotlessly clean and nicely heated too!

We just got back from a fantastic four-night stay at this cosy cottage. The owners were super friendly and helpful, but they weren’t in our way at all. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed, including a great BBQ for a summer evening. The hot tub was the cherry on top! We’d definitely come back and have already told our friends about it. Thanks for a lovely break!

The caravan had flies in it when we arrived. The beds were ok but small, sofa wasn’t comfortable at all and cushions were ripped, carpet needed updating. Facilities were good.

We had a lovely few days here, really peaceful with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. The caravan was cosy and fully equipped-everything we needed for a relaxing break.

We had such a lovely stay at this place, nestled in a truly gorgeous and secluded spot. The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but it still felt really private. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day cycling! Only thing to note is that the cottage sits directly under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be an issue if you're sensitive to noise. Overall, we’d definitely go back!

Great holiday experience

We had a wonderful stay at this charming rural retreat. The courtyard was so pretty and the hot tub really made it special. Perfect for relaxing walks in the countryside too!

Getting to the site can be a bit tricky if you're relying solely on satnav - the roads are quite narrow in places. The place itself is super peaceful, perfect for a relaxing break. The climb over the dunes to the beach is steep but totally worth it, with endless beaches to enjoy. We can't wait to return next year!

We had a lovely little getaway with sunshine making everything brighter. The dunes and beach are just a short walk away, which was perfect. The caravan was cosy and had all we needed for self-catering, plus a nice outdoor picnic spot. The only hiccup was the access route-driving in was a bit tricky with our car on that sandy track. Still, we enjoyed our peaceful stay!

Caravan ok , had everything that was needed . We had a problem with the water temperature in the shower , I contacted the park owner he responded within minutes and all was fixed within 1/2 hour . Verty pleasant , helpful team . .

Very quite and safe location.

Anchor Park is a very quiet site with very few caravans and we liked it. It has immediate access to the beach which is extensive with miles of walking and lots of wildlife. We had a few miles to go for a shop when we needed it but that was a small price to pay for the relaxed atmosphere and the quietness of the site. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

The world is full of people with strange ideas of what is important. If you feel that scatter cushions or super fast Wi-Fi are essential ingredients of a holiday then Anchor Park may not be for you. If, however, you value peace and quiet, fabulous uncrowded beaches, spectacular sand dunes and local wildlife then this most definitely is for you! Yes, the caravans may not be brand new but they are spotlessly clean, comfortable and fully functional in every aspect. A week away from emails and Amazon? When can I come back (with my cushions and lamps, of course)?

Really enjoyed our stay in the caravan was nice and clean and warm just a minutes walk to the beach. A lovely place to take your dogs for long walks the owners were very helpful when needed.

An excellent spot for a complete getaway from everyday life

This is the sixth time that we have been to Anchor Park. It is a lovely quiet site. The North Sea is just over the sand dunes. The caravans are always clean on arrival
