Really enjoyed our stay here! The place was super peaceful and perfect for our dog too.

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy little spot! The location is truly beautiful and very private, which we really appreciated. The owners are super friendly and always nearby if you need anything, but it still felt peaceful and secluded. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! Only thing to mention is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so aircraft noise is quite noticeable at times. We got used to it quickly though and it didn’t ruin our break at all. Definitely recommend!

Celebrated my mum’s 60th at the lodge and honestly, we couldn’t find a single fault. Had an absolute blast and already planning our next visit!

We loved staying at this cosy little cottage. It’s perfectly tucked away, so you feel private but still near shops and local spots. The hot tub was a real treat and the underfloor heating in the bathroom made everything so comfy. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie are fantastic hosts! Can’t wait to return for a longer stay!

We had an absolutely lovely stay here! The owners are genuinely warm and caring, making us feel right at home. The cottage itself is charming, with its traditional half-timbered style and the shower was surprisingly powerful - perfect after a day out. The cosy kitchen and living space made it easy to relax and the bed was super comfy. Parking right next to the cottage was a big plus and it’s so well kept and warm. Great walks nearby too, especially across the fields to Thaxted, which is full of pretty half-timbered houses and a windmill. We’d definitely recommend it!

The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived, with stunning views of the lakes. It really was a perfect spot-couldn't ask for more. Absolutely loved it, would definitely return!

We had a really lovely stay at this lodge. It was spotless and clearly well maintained. The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed, plus having Netflix and Prime was a definite bonus for movie nights. The hot tub was fantastic! Finding it in the dark was a bit tricky since all the lodges look alike, but once we did, we couldn’t stop laughing at how close it was to the entrance. We’d definitely return!

From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and adorable Bonnie made us feel so welcome. The historic building they've sympathetically converted has a real charm and it’s clear they’ve put a lot of effort into it. Goddard's Mead is perfect for a relaxing stay, with a great location in Essex. We loved wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages-so much history and beautiful buildings to discover. Definitely recommend it for a peaceful getaway!

Lovely location; lodges are positioned at angles so you don't feel overlooked or enclosed; easy to get to by car; well maintained and secure; area was quiet but minutes away from shops and seaside; easy to get takeaways delivered; lots of takeaways nearby.

I have stayed here 3 times now, over the last 2 years in different lodges. It's a lovely tranquil break with excellent facilities. Highly recommended ?

Did not have an Information Pack, got in touch with the Faiwaylakes Info, was bluntly told it was in there Friday, this was Monday, asked for Wi-Fi code told on back of router, asked could I have the information pack sent, all that was sent was the Hot Tub installation manual, asked how to turn the heating off as towel rails were extremely hot and not needed, no more response, this lets a lovely place down . Staff at Caldecot Golf Course impeccable!

An excellent place to get away from it all and relax and if you want more exciting experience Gt Yarmouth is only a few miles away

Beautiful lodge with everything needed. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lovely quiet setting with easy access to Gt Yarmouth and surrounding areas. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely 4 night break here. It was bigger than we expected, fully equipped with everything you need. The windows need a good or regular clean and the decking areas are looking a bit tired, some of the furniture broken, but in warm weather very enjoyable. Location great, just outside Yarmouth and lowestoft and some gorgeous beaches close by. No issues with staff contact, and the self check in and out was great. We will definitely return

Loved this lodge. Had everything you could think of including TVs in every room and full BT internet. Would recommend and will be revisiting. Not everyone’s cup of tea but if you want peace and quiet and just to relax this is your place. Sauna and hot tub were amazing and the whole lodge was very spacious.

We had such a relaxing stay. Beautiful Lodge and very spacious for our little ones. The weather was beautiful to allow us to sit on the balconies and walk around the lakes and to the golf club. Beautiful surroundings. Would definitely like to return and highly recommend.
