The lodge was super cosy and had all we needed for a comfy stay. Well presented too!

Really enjoyed our stay! The owners were super friendly and the jacuzzi was a lovely touch.

The cottage was really charming and perfect for a peaceful getaway. Just a heads up, you might hear planes at night since it’s close to Stansted. The hot tub was a highlight!

We had a really good stay in the Pond Pod! The heating kept us super warm and cosy, which was just what we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, so we could cook pretty much anything, no problems. The beds were really comfy-especially the Murphy Bed, which was surprisingly rare and enjoyable. The shower was a highlight-hot water and strong pressure. Only small hiccups like a damaged bathroom door and a tiny bit of cleanliness issue, but overall, we loved it!

We had a really relaxing stay at this place. The hot tub was a lovely touch and the house had everything we needed. The hosts were friendly too. Perfect for some peace and quiet. Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet it felt very private and peaceful. Robert and Sharon were lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom, plus a super comfy bed. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of scenic walks nearby and we enjoyed dining out in Thaxted, especially The Star and The Maypole. Overall, we’d definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely stay! The cottage is spotlessly kept and has everything you might need. The walks right outside the door were perfect for our doggos. The host was super friendly and quick to respond, which made everything easy. Meeting the animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. We’ll definitely return-great value for money!

We stayed at this place recently and honestly, it’s pretty lovely. The house is well kitted out and super cosy, which was perfect given the rainy December weather. The bath was just perfect for relaxing after a long day and the shower is big enough to feel like a spa. The location is quite remote, but that’s actually a big plus if your dog hates fireworks - no disturbances at all! Definitely recommend if you’re after a peaceful getaway. Thanks again!

Good overall experience

We had a wonderful stay! The house was spotless, super comfy and the hot tub was perfect.

We loved this cosy little cottage! It’s nicely tucked away, giving us that peaceful retreat we needed, yet close enough to explore local shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real highlight and the underfloor heating kept everything super warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie were lovely hosts. Can’t wait to return!

We had a pretty good stay overall. The location was spot on and the pod was just right for what we needed-nice and cosy. The staff we met were genuinely friendly and eager to help, which made things easier. We also enjoyed the meal at the onsite restaurant; it was tasty and convenient. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the cleanliness of the pod. We only noticed the leftover items like clothes, playing cards, dog hairs and crisps after we started packing up to leave-bit late, I know! Considering the altered check-in and check-out times due to Covid, we thought the cleaning could be more thorough. Still, it was a nice trip overall and we’d consider coming back!

We had an amazing stay at the Ptarmigan Hot Tub Lodge. Honestly, it totally surpassed what we were expecting. The views from the lodge, especially from the hot tub, are just breathtaking. We spent quite a bit of time soaking under the stars in the evening, even when it was drizzling a bit - still lovely! Our teen and his mate loved hanging out in the hot tub too, just relaxing and listening to music for ages. The place was spotlessly clean and super cosy, with everything we needed - loads of towels and all the cooking gear. Having wifi was a lifesaver, especially since we could stream Netflix and Prime on the TVs. Personally, I prefer softer pillows and a less firm mattress, but I slept fine anyway. We really loved it and will definitely return!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The warm welcome from the owners made it even better. Lovely people indeed!

Looking forward to returning, the pond view caravan was lovely, definitely booking again soon!

The lodge was clean and in a beautiful location. The staff where friendly and helpful. My young nephew really enjoyed the entertainment at night and it is the most dog friendly place I have ever been. So we all hope to come back soon!

Will definitely return was so much activities for my son to take part in. Surrounding views were stunning. Caravan was absolutely beautiful and spotless. Great time had by all. Had a weeks holiday and could definitely have stayed longer

Very friendly and informative staff all round. Beautiful surroundings, we had a hot tub and were not overlooked by anyone and the views were amazing. We complained about a dog barking constantly as he was left on his own after around 7pm till late on night. Within the hour a member of staff came to inform us this had been dealt with and thanked us for reporting it. Apart from the dog barking the remainder of the time the site was peaceful. Reported sound was not working on TV in the living area and this was replaced the next morning.

The overall holiday experience was very good, the venue amazing and all the staff friendly. On our first evening we needed further information regarding our bungalow but reception was not open.This was a Saturday so I presume a lot of people had booked in that day, there were other people at the desk looking for staff at the same time as me (approx 7pm). I would suggest a later time for popular book in days or at least put a notice up so people know they have gone home.

After a few initial problems on site we had a wonderful time and would recommend the site to anybody. We were upgraded to the most beautiful lodge we have ever stopped in. Everything was there. Great time was gad by all.

Caravan was spotless Location was perfect Staff were so helpful and always smiling. Food at restaurant was outstanding as was the waitress. I have and will recommend this place to all my family and friends. Outstanding location

Stunning place to visit, would be great if there was a cash machine for easiness, overall 10/10 stay. Will definitely be back!
