We just got back from a fantastic four-night stay at this charming cottage. The owners were really friendly and helpful but never intrusive, which was perfect. The big fenced garden was great for our dog to roam freely. The place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and we used the BBQ one night. The hot tub was just amazing! We’re already telling friends to check it out and definitely plan to come back. Thanks for a lovely break!

We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners are super friendly without being overbearing-they’re there if you need anything but give you space. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around. The cottage had everything we needed and the hot tub was just brilliant! Nice spot for a quick trip

We had a fantastic weekend stay here! Everything we hoped for and more. The garden was perfect for the pups to run around and they loved the underfloor heating - Luna even wagged her tail so much she strained it! Honestly, our dogs were so happy and we’re already planning to come back. Great place all around!

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy little cottage! It’s honestly stocked with everything you could possibly need, so no need to bring much at all. We ended up overpacking the car because we didn’t realise how well-equipped it was. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, full of useful info and menus - really thoughtful. The owners, Sharon and Rob, were quick to reply whenever we had questions. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and the hot tub was just perfect after a day out. Thanks for a lovely break!

The place had everything we could ask for-spotlessly clean, cosy and secure for our dog Archie, which was a relief. The location was perfect, with plenty of scenic walks nearby. Thaxted and the surrounding villages are charming spots to explore. Honestly, we left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed-great break!

The host was super friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. Can’t wait to come back, such good value! Highly recommend.

We stayed here for a week in July with our two little dachshunds and they absolutely loved it! The village of Thaxted is charming and the cottage itself is really cosy. The highlight was definitely the hot tub - perfect for cooling off during the scorching weather. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel very welcome; it was lovely seeing their horses being taken out daily. Sure, you're near the Stansted flight path, but honestly, watching the planes come in was quite interesting. Would definitely recommend it!

We booked a dog walking getaway and it couldn't have been better. The place was cosy, with lovely pubs and eateries nearby. Plenty of fields for off-road walks and our dog loved every minute of it! Definitely coming back.

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were genuinely impressed. Rob and Sharon put a lot of effort into beautifully restoring this historic building, which adds a lovely charm. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, making us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex; we enjoyed wandering around Thaxted and other nearby villages, soaking up the history and seeing some stunning architecture. Definitely worth a visit!

We love the area. Shame there was a problem with the pool. And the evening entertainment. Both unavoidable but disappointing just the same.

First time trying Morecambe and we had a lovely time. Pool and changing rooms spotless. Caravan excellent and spacious. Kids loved it ?
