We had a fantastic stay at Milo, the cosy cabin was just perfect for us two. It was spotless and had everything we needed in the small kitchen to whip up some meals. The big comfy bed was a real highlight after a day of exploring. Sitting outside at the table with a hot drink, birdwatching and spotting squirrels and ducks was lovely. The hot tub was a real treat! The staff struck just the right balance-friendly and professional, giving us privacy but always on hand if needed. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a fantastic two-night stay at Riverside Cabins! The lodge was stunning and had all the essentials plus some little extras. The owners were genuinely warm and super helpful, making us feel at home. The bed was so comfy and we loved relaxing in the hot tub, which was spotless and checked daily-something we really appreciated after some dodgy places we've stayed. We’re already planning our return and will be telling our friends about it!

We had a lovely weekend overall, though there was a mouse dropping in the bed which the cabin staff quickly sorted out. A few of us wanted to leave early, which was a shame.

The lodge itself is charming and we loved the free kayaking and paddleboarding. Country walks are lovely and the hot tub right outside is a real bonus. It’s a peaceful spot, maybe a bit quiet for energetic kids, but perfect for unwinding.

We chose Doris over Winston, but honestly, they’re identical. The place is super comfy, spotless and really well-kept. The bifold doors opening onto the balcony gave it a nice private feel. We’d definitely come back again, no doubt about it!

We stayed at a really cosy, well-equipped house that kept us warm during a rainy December. The bath was fantastic and the shower was quite spacious - perfect after a long day out. The location is peaceful, with no noise from the nearby flight path, which didn’t bother us at all. Great spot for dogs, especially if fireworks scare them. Thanks a lot for a lovely stay!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed with how beautifully the owners, Rob and Sharon, have restored this historic building. They gave us such a warm welcome, which made us feel right at home, along with Bonnie’s friendly presence. The place has everything you need for a chilled-out stay. Plus, the location in Essex is perfect-definitely worth exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages to soak up the lovely history and architecture!

We had a really lovely stay at this place, nestled in such a peaceful, private spot. The owners were super friendly and always happy to help if we needed anything, but it still felt very secluded. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling around. Only thing to note is that the cottage is directly under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of noise from planes. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but it’s worth mentioning if noise affects you. Overall, a great spot!
