The lodge was lovely would never get bored looking at the view. Arrived no toilet rolls or cleaning products .no normal TV which was annoying after a while. had WiFi which was a bonus

The television did not work properly and despite the site engineer spending over an hour trying ti fix it programmes could not be viewed.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us-peaceful and away from the busy crowds. The hot tub was fantastic and the owners were so friendly and unobtrusive. Theyve got it just right!

We loved the cosy cottage, perfect for a peaceful escape. The hot tub was a real treat. Only thing to note, the planes at night might bother some.

We had a lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in a peaceful, private area. The owners were genuinely friendly and always ready to help, yet they respected our privacy perfectly. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling - so relaxing! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is directly under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didnt ruin our trip at all. Overall, a great find!

We had a fantastic week here in July with our two tiny daschund girls and they loved every minute! The village of Thaxted is charming and the cottage itself is lovely, especially the hot tub - perfect after those scorching days, since the water was nicely cooled. The hosts were really welcoming and friendly; it was nice to see their horses being taken out to the fields each day. Being near Stansted's flight path was a bit noisy, but honestly, it added a bit of charm watching the planes land. Wed definitely recommend it!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and were genuinely impressed. Rob and Sharon have done a lovely job transforming this historic building with such care. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable! The place has everything we needed for a comfy, relaxing break. The locations perfect, right in the heart of Essex and exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages is a must - so much history and charm around every corner!

We loved sitting by the water with coffee in hand and even took a wild swim in the loch - quite an experience! The hot tub was a real treat after a day of exploring. The decor feels really modern and luxe, especially the bathrooms with those glass ceilings and double sinks. One morning, a seal popped up by the jetty while we were paddling, making it truly magical. We had an amazing time!

We had such a great weekend here! The place really ticked all the boxes for us and were already planning our return. Our dogs adored the underfloor heating and the garden was perfect for them to run around. Luna was wagging her tail so much she strained it-bless her! Everyone was super happy, pups and humans alike. We just got back from a great four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were really friendly and helpful without being pushy, which was nice. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around. The place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and a BBQ one evening. The hot tub was absolutely brilliant! Were already telling friends to check it out and would definitely come back ourselves. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still feeling very private. Robert and Sharon were such warm hosts, making us feel right at home. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that ensured good nights sleep. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of walking routes around and Thaxteds restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are well worth a visit. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at this lodge - such a great spot with breathtaking views all around. Theres plenty to explore nearby, but its also perfect just to kick back and enjoy some peace and quiet. The hot tub was a real treat, kept spotless daily by friendly staff, which was much appreciated. That said, we did notice the cleanliness could be a bit better inside the lodge - windows and patio doors could do with a wipe and there were cobwebs here and there. We also had to give the fridge a clean when we arrived because of bits of food left in the trays. The decking area can be a bit slippy when wet, so a good clean wouldnt go amiss. On the plus side, they provided dishwashing liquid, tea towels and dishwasher tablets, which was handy. Overall, a chilled, relaxing break with friendly service.

Absolutely lovely lodge in an excellent location with spectacular views and surroundings. Lots of places to visit and also good for sitting out and having a nice chilled relaxed day. Hot tub an excellent extra and maintained daily by helpful staff. The only thing I would mention would be the attention to cleaning in the lodge. Windows and patio doors needed a clean, this should be a must to see the views from inside. Cobwebs all round the lodge and had to clean the fridge when I arrived as bits of food in the trays. Decking and patio area could do with a good clean as extremely slippy when wet.Loved that washing up liquid, tea towels and dishwasher tablets are provided.Staff friendly and helpful on arrival.Overall a well relaxed break

We really enjoyed the lodge, but some items, like the saucepans, were quite worn out. Be careful when getting out of the combined bath and shower! Quite a lovely stay overall.
