We had a lovely stay at this cosy spot tucked away in a peaceful, private area. The owners were genuinely friendly and always ready to help, yet they respected our privacy perfectly. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling - so relaxing! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is directly under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didn’t ruin our trip at all. Overall, a great find!

We had a fantastic week here in July with our two tiny daschund girls and they loved every minute! The village of Thaxted is charming and the cottage itself is lovely, especially the hot tub - perfect after those scorching days, since the water was nicely cooled. The hosts were really welcoming and friendly; it was nice to see their horses being taken out to the fields each day. Being near Stansted's flight path was a bit noisy, but honestly, it added a bit of charm watching the planes land. We’d definitely recommend it!

They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable! The place has everything we needed for a comfy, relaxing break. The location’s perfect, right in the heart of Essex and exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages is a must - so much history and charm around every corner!

We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it’s just stunning. The scenery around it is breathtaking, perfect for a relaxing girls weekend. We loved sitting by the water with coffee in hand and even took a wild swim in the loch - quite an experience! The hot tub was a real treat after a day of exploring. The decor feels really modern and luxe, especially the bathrooms with those glass ceilings and double sinks. One morning, a seal popped up by the jetty while we were paddling, making it truly magical. We had an amazing time!

We stayed here for a week in July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was a real highlight-perfect for cooling off during the scorching heatwave. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed seeing their horses being taken out daily, which was a nice touch. Being close to the flight path near Stansted added some interesting plane watching. Overall, we’d definitely recommend Hide for a cosy getaway with your furry friends!

We just got back from a great four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were really friendly and helpful without being pushy, which was nice. The big fenced garden was perfect for our dog to run around. The place had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen and a BBQ one evening. The hot tub was absolutely brilliant! We’re already telling friends to check it out and would definitely come back ourselves. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still feeling very private. Robert and Sharon were such warm hosts, making us feel right at home. The place itself is huge, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that ensured good nights’ sleep. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of walking routes around and Thaxted’s restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are well worth a visit. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at this lodge - such a great spot with breathtaking views all around. There’s plenty to explore nearby, but it’s also perfect just to kick back and enjoy some peace and quiet. The hot tub was a real treat, kept spotless daily by friendly staff, which was much appreciated. That said, we did notice the cleanliness could be a bit better inside the lodge - windows and patio doors could do with a wipe and there were cobwebs here and there. We also had to give the fridge a clean when we arrived because of bits of food left in the trays. The decking area can be a bit slippy when wet, so a good clean wouldn’t go amiss. On the plus side, they provided dishwashing liquid, tea towels and dishwasher tablets, which was handy. Overall, a chilled, relaxing break with friendly service.

We really enjoyed the lodge, but some items, like the saucepans, were quite worn out. Be careful when getting out of the combined bath and shower! Quite a lovely stay overall.

We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was spotlessly clean and really well equipped, making us feel right at home. The walks right outside were perfect for the dogs and we especially enjoyed meeting Penelope the pig - so curious! The host was super friendly and efficient. Definitely coming back - great value and a real escape for us and the pups!

We loved this cosy cottage! It’s perfectly tucked away, offering privacy but still near local shops and cafes. The hot tub was a real highlight and the underfloor heating kept everything super warm. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Can’t wait to return for longer!
