We had a fantastic weekend stay and really enjoyed our time here. The place was perfect for what we needed and the pups absolutely adored the underfloor heating - they had a blast in the garden! Luna was wagging her tail so much she ended up with a strained one, but it’s all good. Definitely planning to return soon!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us warm on that rainy December day-so cosy! The bath was just perfect and the shower was lovely and spacious. Being near the flight path didn’t bother us at all, honestly. Great spot for dogs that hate fireworks, as it’s so remote. Loved the conversion and the peaceful vibe. Thanks a lot!

We had a great stay at this cosy little cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still totally private. Robert and Sharon are lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place is super spacious, with all the kitchen stuff you'd need and the bathroom was well-equipped. The bed was so comfy, we slept like logs. The garden’s perfect for dogs - totally secluded and with nice furniture. Plus, there are loads of walks nearby. Thaxted’s restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole, were really good. We’d definitely recommend it!

We stayed at Little Gem and honestly, it’s a real treasure. The cottage is so well equipped that we barely needed to bring a thing, which was a pleasant surprise. The welcome pack was full of helpful info, including menus, which made everything so straightforward. The owners, Sharon and Rob, were quick to respond whenever we had questions. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and the hot tub was a real treat after long days out. Thanks for a lovely relaxing break - we’ll definitely be back!

We had such a cosy stay at this place! The house was super well equipped and kept us warm on a drizzly December day - perfect. The bath was lovely and the shower was a good size. It’s true, it’s near a flight path but honestly, we didn’t notice any noise. Perfect spot if you’ve got dogs that hate fireworks, as it’s quite remote. Really beautiful conversion too. Cheers!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely spot, tucked away in such a peaceful, private setting. The hosts were genuinely friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, but it still felt really secluded. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day! The only thing to note is that the cottage is directly under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, it’s worth considering.

We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely friendly and went out of their way to help us. The cottage itself is gorgeous, with its charming timber-framed exterior and a really powerful shower that was much appreciated. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel like a home away from home. Plus, parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus. It’s perfect for walks to Thaxted and exploring nearby villages. Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard's Mead. The owners, Rob and Sharon, have done a fantastic job converting this historic building with such care. They were incredibly warm and welcoming and Bonnie was lovely too! The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you like wandering through charming villages like Thaxted. It’s a peaceful spot and we’d definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a relaxing break. We’ll be back!

My partner and I recently stayed here for a little weekend escape and honestly, we’re already planning to come back for a full week next year. The views are absolutely stunning, really breathtaking and the peaceful surroundings made it feel like a proper retreat. The hot tub was such a nice touch - perfect for relaxing after a long day. We also had a meal at the cafe on the sister site and I have to say, the portions were huge and the food was lovely. The burger and mac and cheese were spot on! The only thing I’d suggest is having a look at the shower; it was a bit temperamental, but that didn’t ruin our stay at all. The staff are genuinely friendly and what we really appreciated was how one staff member personally took us to the lodge and showed us around rather than just pointing us in the right direction - such a nice personal touch. The lodge itself is gorgeous, honestly, I’d move in if I could! Waking up to mountain views from the deck each morning was so peaceful, especially with kids at home, those moments are priceless. Plus, everything you need is nearby, which is great. Definitely recommend!
