Honestly, we were pretty disappointed with our stay. The manager was nice enough, but the place was just filthy. The dust was thick everywhere, even the manager agreed it was really bad. We found a pair of dirty socks on top of one unit and the rusty water coming from the bath radiator fittings was gross. The extractor fans were coated in dust and there was mould in both showers. The inside of the teapot was rusty and the frying pans looked like they’d been through hell-burnt food on one, grease on the other. We paid a good amount for February, so it was quite a letdown.

The on-site cafe and bar are closed from Monday to Thursday, which was a bit of a letdown. The pod looks bigger than it really is and while it’s generally tidy, I noticed dust in the corners and some cobwebs. The toilet seat kept moving, which was annoying. Didn’t bother complaining at the time, so no fix. Overall, a bit disappointed.

Nice enough stay, though we didn't go for the lodge option ourselves.

Great spot overall, but WiFi is a real letdown these days. Pod 5 could use a bit more attention to cleaning, especially the bedsheets. Still, we enjoyed it!

We had such a lovely stay at this place! Booked a cosy glamping pod for our family - myself, my partner and our two little ones. The pod was spotless and felt really homely. It was a bonus to find a fridge, toaster and microwave included. There's a big grassy area right behind the pod, which the kids absolutely loved running around in - they had a proper blast. Just a short walk away, there's a really well-equipped park, perfect for the kids to burn off some energy. We didn’t use the laundry facilities, but it’s handy to know they’re available. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant on our last night and Anna was fantastic - so friendly and patient with the kids. She even let them draw on the chalkboard while we waited for our food. The portions were huge and the meal was delicious. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!

This lodge looks stunning and feels really spacious inside. If we ever decide to buy on site, this would definitely be our pick. It’s got everything you’d want for a comfy home from home, plus in a great spot too!

Had a lovely weekend away with my partner. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Our room was super comfy, spotless and felt really cosy. The hot tub was a dream-spotless and so relaxing. Grounds were beautifully kept, really impressed. We'd definitely come back!

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The design is really charming and the hot tub was a definite highlight, especially with those amazing views. Some areas looked a bit tired and could do with a freshen-up, but we think it’s probably still a work in progress before high season. We’d definitely return for another relaxing break!

Really enjoyed staying here, honestly. The lodge was spotless, which we loved. Location is spot on, easy to reach everywhere we wanted to go. Plus, the price was just right, not too expensive at all. Definitely a great find for us. Would stay again without hesitation!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the beds were quite small, so we ended up sleeping on the sofa. Also, the kitchen utensils were a bit lacking. Still, nice trip!
Emma
Date of stay: 4th January 2024
We decided to go away last minute for New Year’s and managed to find a cracking deal on a place with a hot tub. The staff were super friendly and even surprised us with a bottle of wine to ring in the New Year-that was a lovely touch! The accommodation itself was spot on-clean, cosy and well kitted out. The site had a nice vibe and although the restaurant was closed because of the time of year, we came prepared with our own food, so no worries there. We also took some really peaceful walks around Fort Augusta, which was stunning. The location was perfect for what we wanted. All in all, a lovely short break, cheers to that!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The resort was spotless and close to the village, making exploring easy. Kids loved the playground and the scenery was breathtaking too.
Emma Roberts
Date of stay: 2nd January 2024
Honestly, we weren’t impressed at all. During our stay, a storm knocked out the power on our last day. Nobody checked on us, even though we had kids with us. We get that it’s not their fault the power went out, but a simple gesture like offering a torch or asking if we were alright would’ve made a difference. Maybe in future they could think about installing a generator for emergencies like this. Wouldn’t hurt, really.
