We loved this lodge! It’s in a fantastic spot, super tidy and instantly felt cosy when we arrived. Honestly, we couldn’t find a single fault and will be booking again soon!

We’ve stayed here twice now and honestly, both times the cabins were pretty disappointing cleanliness-wise. The first time in summer, no8 and more recently in no5 (Lillypad) over Christmas, it was just as messy. Cobwebs everywhere and this time we even spotted mould on the ceiling and paint peeling off. The toilets had mould on the curtains and blinds too. On the bright side, the kitchens are well stocked and the hottub was kept nice. Check-in was quick and smooth and the person at reception on checkout was friendly enough to listen to our concerns, which was appreciated.

The caravan was honestly pretty grim when we arrived - definitely not cleaned as promised. There were food crumbs everywhere, stains on the loo and a sticky patch on the sofa. Carpets and oven were filthy and the beds weren't comfy at all. Such a shame because the beach and sea view are lovely. Wouldn't stay here again!

Honestly, we weren’t too impressed with the caravan. It wasn’t very clean - toothpaste on the bathroom sink and all the crockery needed washing before use. We had to fix a leak under the kitchen sink and one of the stools fell apart, which was a bit of a pain. Walls and floors could do with a proper clean too. The double bed was super soft, so not great for a good sleep. We tried the Fish and Chippery, but never again - not worth the bother. The Coast restaurant was disappointing as well. Also, there were no spare blankets and missing some basic kitchen stuff like a tin opener and egg cups. It just felt a bit neglected, honestly.

The shower floor was quite a mess, didn’t drain properly and just puddled up. No squeegee was available to push the water away and the mop was useless once wet-it just moved the water around, really frustrating.

We stayed in this caravan and honestly, it was fantastic. The place was spotless and super comfy, especially the memory foam mattresses which gave us the best sleep in ages. The sea views are just breathtaking-we could stare at them all day. Very peaceful and relaxing, definitely recommend!

Overall, we had a decent stay. There was a minor issue with a window hinge, which was still secure and one of the cooker knobs wasn’t working. The bar experience was a bit frustrating; after dinner on Thursday, last orders were called at 9:15, even though the entertainment bar was still open. We felt it would’ve been nicer if they stayed open a bit longer since some guests just want to enjoy a quiet drink. It’s not a huge deal, but a small tweak could make a difference!

We didn’t actually eat at the restaurant, but we grabbed some chips from the chip shop - unfortunately, they were undercooked in the middle. The caravan had a few issues too; no blind in the bathroom made things a bit awkward and the shower was either boiling or freezing. The heating boost didn’t work either, which was a pain since there was no drying rail.

We had a really nice stay overall. The caravan was surprisingly roomy and well-equipped with everything you'd need for cooking and dining inside. It was spotless, which we appreciated. The only thing that bugged us a bit was the quilt on the double bed - it barely covered the mattress edges and there was no extra quilt for our side. We ended up grabbing the spare single quilts to make do, which was fine for just the two of us, but if we’d brought friends or family, it could’ve been an issue. Still, we enjoyed our holiday and plan to come back again!

We loved the spot right on the seafront, such a stunning beach! The weather was perfect and the staff were genuinely friendly throughout our stay. Really enjoyed it!

Date of stay: 14th May 2023
We loved the caravan’s stunning beach views and felt it was great value. The only downside was the poor TV reception, which was out of Grannies’ control and there was no DVD option to fill the gap. Still, overall, a nice stay!

Date of stay: 25th April 2023
We recently took our kids, aged 5 and 6, for a long weekend from Friday to Monday. One of the biggest letdowns was trying to get a slot for swimming - completely booked up all weekend with a waiting list for cancellations. Apparently, most people book their swimming sessions six weeks ahead or when they first book their holiday, which we didn’t realise. The kids were pretty disappointed since there wasn’t much to do indoors, especially if the weather wasn’t great; the site mainly relies on the beach as entertainment, or you have a tiny park or an old plastic crazy golf course. The food was decent but definitely overpriced. Honestly, it wasn’t the best experience and felt quite disappointing overall. It’s probably alright as a quick stopover if you’re doing the North Coast 500, but not somewhere to spend much time, especially with little ones. If you’re thinking of visiting last minute because of the heated pool, you’ll be disappointed - activities really need to be booked way in advance.

We had an awesome stay! The caravan was spotless and fully kitted out. The heating warmed up fast when we needed it and relaxing on the deck with a book was just perfect. Definitely recommend!

Really pleased with the caravan overall, it’s surprisingly roomy and comfortable inside. The TV needs a slight fix, but nothing major. We’re happy with our purchase!

Really missing a decent frying pan for breakfast eggs and bacon, especially with those tasty scotch scones. Would've loved having one included or available. It’s a bit of a hassle without it!

Had a lovely weekend break, super relaxing! Sadly, the restaurant was closed because of COVID, but it didn’t ruin our overall holiday at all.
Les
Had a good break and the no contact handover was excellent
Magaret
Had a lovely time with family, lots to do for children and family entertainment at night. Set in a beautiful location.
Karen
The caravan had everything we needed, including a washing machine which is not essential but having 3 young grandkids it was very useful, it was clean & comfortable, we all had a fantastic time, close to the beach, the kids had a great time.
Joseph
Great beach location lots going on for children and bars for adults well stocked shop and overall great holiday
Gergana
Had an amazing family time :)
Natalie
Gorgeous location, very clean caravan. Well stocked shop and a good choice food at the on-site pub. The one downside for us was the “dog friendly” pub. If you wanted to take your dog into the pub you had to sit in what was ultimately a corridor closed off from the rest of the pub, we felt very unwelcome with out dog because of this.
Carole
Excellent weekend away - caravan and site were great.
James
The only let down was the fish and chip shop, was rather expensive for frozen chips and the batter on the sausage was burnt
