We had such a lovely stay! The house was really well kitted out and super cosy, which was perfect for the rainy December weather. The bath was fantastic and the shower was nice and spacious. Being on a flight path didn’t bother us at all, so don’t worry about that. Perfect spot for dogs that hate fireworks - totally remote and peaceful. Thanks a lot!

The cottage itself is charming with its traditional half-timbered style and the shower was surprisingly powerful-definitely a plus! Emma
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely spot. The setting is so peaceful and private, yet the owners are super friendly and always there if you need a hand. After a long day cycling, the hot tub was just what we needed! The only thing to note is that the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of plane noise. It didn’t bother us much once we got used to it, but if you’re sensitive to noise, it’s worth bearing in mind. Overall, a great little getaway!

We had a fantastic stay at this place! The house was super well equipped and kept us cosy even on a rainy December day. The bath was spot on and the shower was really generous. The location is perfect if you’ve got dogs that dislike fireworks, since it’s quite remote. Flying over didn’t bother us at all, so don’t let that put you off. Thanks a lot!

Our weekend stay was just perfect, really hitting all the right notes for us. We loved the cosy feel of the place and the garden was a hit with our dogs. They had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating! Luna was wagging so much she hurt her tail - guess she was too happy! We’ll definitely be coming back.

We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and it was such a lovely experience. The owners, Rob and Sharon, have really put a lot of thought into restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The place has everything you need for a chilled-out stay. Harriet
We had a lovely stay at this cosy place, nestled in a really peaceful, private spot. The owners were super friendly and always happy to help if needed, but it still felt secluded enough to relax fully. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day of cycling! Only thing to mention is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. We got used to it quickly, though and it didn’t ruin our trip. Just something to keep in mind if noise bothers you!
Oliver
We recently stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The place feels surprisingly private despite the farm setting. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely warm and friendly. The cottage itself is big, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we slept like logs on. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely enclosed and nicely furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted has some great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. We’d definitely recommend it!
Emma
