Wickham Green Farm Lodges - Reviews

We used the place as a base for Longleat and other attractions. If it was not for the cold, rainy, windy weather condition = we could have explored more. Having said that, we enjoyed our long weekend driving round places of interest nearby of which there are plenty depending on what you like to do

Wonderful! The lodge was in good condition and had all the facilities you could need, the coffee filter machine was a bonus. The location was perfect for exploring the area, there were country roads in all directions which made driving a must and a challenge if you are not used to them. My kids loved playing on the climbing frame amd the other play items left were lovely, they especially loved chilling in hammocks forbsome down time. The cows visited the neighbouring field each night. Would definitely return.

We had enjoyable and comfortable stay at Meadow Lodge. It was very peaceful and quiet. Our kids enjoyed the slide, swing and box of bats and balls etc. Lodge is clean and well set out. Kitchen has slimline dishwasher, and under counter combi fridge-freezer, so just buy a couple of days food at a time. There is a TV running on freesat, DVD player, but no WiFi. We enjoyed being 'tech free' for a week, enjoying family board games. On our stay we visited Bath on a very rainy day. Our kids aged 10 and 13 enjoyed Frankenstein museum which has an escape room and a suitcase mystery. We enjoyed both. Parking was at Charlotte Street, lots of spaces but be warned you can't pay cash and you need to scan a QR code and faff on with inputting card details. We also visited Longleat, expensive but lots and lots to do and see so worth the money. Cheddar Gorge was enjoyable and Stonehenge was amazing with very good visitor centre where the kids took part in an archaeology dig experience. If you are part of CSSC (civil service) you can get in to Stonehenge for free.

Highly recommended - an absolutely beautiful location - lodges are perfect, comfortable, secluded and quiet, and an ideal base to explore the area and relax in the evenings while watching the local wildlife. Great value, a warm welcome, and will definitely return.

The only reason why I put a 9 was because there is no wifi - which wasnt an issue for us as we were aware of this, but other than that everything was amazing. Hoping to visit this year too!

The Lodge was fab. It even had the same dishwasher that I have at home, so life was very easy. The only slight thing I would change is the bathroom toilet is very close to the wall and the seat was wonky and also the mirror was right above the toilet and very high up. No good for little people like me. Could do with a big mirror on that wall. But overall it was Fab! Comfortable, clean, well equipped.

Amazing location, lovely and quiet, clean and well equipped lodge. Plenty of toys and games in the lodge for the kids to play with and a lot of outside toys and games available too. Owner was friendly and helpful with ideas for days out.

One of the best family holidays we have had and we have already looked at booking for next year.

Spacious with comfortable furniture, felt like staying in someone's home with extra kitchen stuff, books, games, pictures of local places, lovely garden area outside the private verandah, which looks out over fields and woodland. Plenty of space for parking.

Great location- comfortable lodge. Children loved feeding the hens every day, great value for money. One negative - the sign for the property needs to be advertised clearly as we spent a long time looking for it when we had actually driven past it several times.

We loved our lodge. It was really comfortable and had everything we needed. The outside furniture was a little worn hence the score of 8 but we weren't bothered by that. Inside the lodge was immaculate and very comfortable. The owner of the farm was very friendly. She was there if we needed her but left us to it when we didn't. Perfect!

A lovely location, just what we needed. Plenty to do in the area and the cottage was ideal to relax in after a hot day out. The local pub was great for a meal and very welcoming.

Our stay at Wickham Green farm was amazing. I don’t have negatif to say about our stay. We loved the countryside location as it was also close to shops and close the the main city of Bath which we loved. The lodge was immaculate and you could find everything you need within the lodge . The Lady owner was really helpful over the phone as it was contactless check in and out . My children absolutely adored it too and they can’t wait to come back. thank you again for a relaxing break.
Zoe
Lodge was immaculate. Lovely surroundings, so peaceful and tranquil.

We had so much fresh air at Wickham green farm. It was just what we needed. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of big towns but you can drive a short distance to parks, shops, brewery etc. There are chickens and cattle. I loved watching the cattle in the evenings. They came right infront of the lodges. Our lodge was sufficient for a family of 4. It was very clean throughout. There was nothing to fault. All appliances were in good working order. There was no wifi but we knew of this beforehand. We brought our own DVDs but TV was sufficient and children watched their ussual Cebeebies bedtime shows. The owners are extremely thoughtful when it comes to accommodating young children and families. There is a sign at the main entrance for drivers to be aware of children. There is a small, play area infront of the lodges. It was safe and well maintained. We were given ride-on tractors. My 5 year old and 2 year old daughter loved these. It's nice that 1 of the tractors is for toddlers. We could arrange to have a high chair. There are plates, cups and cutlery for children. There are several places to visit nearby. There are printed visitor guides in the lodge. We loved the Caen hill locks and I highly recommend the Bowood country park. There was nothing not to like. The beds were comfortable. A little radio in each bedroom was a nice touch. Finally, the farm lady is such a kind woman. We cannot thank her enough for her kindness. She went to great lengths to ensure that we were comfortable during our stay. We will visit again!

We went as a couple, the lodge was spacious and had everything we needed, and was well equipped, clean and tidy. Location is ultra quiet, situated on a working farm, and may not suit people looking for active nightlife. , There is a good local pub The Lamb, within easy walking distance together with a local community shop and plenty of things to do within a short car drive. A very enjoyable break.
Deborah
Spent a very relaxed holiday here. Although there are 2 other lodges it still felt quite private. Liked watching the cows in the field in the evenings. Very helpful owner.
Maureen
We were very pleased with the accommodation and the area around. We had a very relaxing holiday.
Pat
Lovely quiet holiday. Lodge was beautiful and clean with amazing views.
Kelly
Beautiful location, very peaceful. The sign for the lodges is set back off the road so we actually missed it when we first arrived. The lodges are set on a working farm with the cows grazing in the field opposite. Urchfont woods are opposite the lodges and if you walk from the lodges across three fields it brings you to the entrance of the woods. The lodges were clean and tidy when we arrived and full instructions regarding covid restrictions etc. My only fault with the lodges was the fridge freezer is quite small, under bench fridge with small freezer compartment. Which if your not planning on eating out everyday and have a family of four you may struggle with. The owner is lovely and just left us to get on with our holiday but we had a number to contact them on if we needed anything. Overall a lovely peaceful holiday, made better by the glorious summer heatwave we had. I would recommend staying here and would return.
