We had such a lovely stay at this place! The secluded location really gives you a sense of peace, yet the owners are super friendly and helpful if you need anything. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling. One thing to keep in mind, the cottage is right under Stansted’s flight path, so there’s quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didn’t bother us after a couple of hours, but if you’re sensitive to noise, it’s worth considering. Overall, a great spot!

We absolutely loved this place! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secure and spacious. Despite being full, there was still loads of space in the kitchen and lounge for relaxing or playing games. Great value for money too!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming and welcoming. The space inside is huge and the kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped - really appreciated the comfy bed too! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and furnished nicely. Plenty of walks nearby and we loved exploring Thaxted’s eateries like The Star and The Maypole. Overall, a place we’d happily recommend!

We had such a lovely weekend here, it really ticked all the boxes for us. The garden was perfect for our dogs, who had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating-Luna even wagged her tail so much she strained it! Honestly, the pups were happy and so were we. We’re already thinking about coming back soon!

We had a fantastic time during our stay! The host, Steve, was super friendly and really helpful, which made everything so much easier. The accommodation was lovely, especially the big garden at Ash Cottage - perfect and safe for the kids. The jacuzzi was a real treat and we loved the location. The TV was massive and connected easily to our phones for streaming. We've already booked for next year, can't wait!

Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into transforming this historic building and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a chill and comfy stay. The location is spot on - perfect for exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages, which are full of interesting history and beautiful old buildings. Definitely worth a visit!

We had a fantastic stay! The cottage was spotless and well-equipped, perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was definitely a highlight and the peaceful location made all the difference. Plenty of lovely walks nearby. Honestly, we’d love to come back soon!

The hoilday lodge was lovely me and my family really enjoyed it! Very quite and the weather was amazing. The hot tub was a real life saver for me as I am suffering with a bad back getting in a hot tub really helped.
Charlotte
Absolutely amazing, hosts were so welcoming and helpful, especially afterwards once we realised we left a set of car keys there. So so cheap, perfect break for families, couples or friends. Couldn’t recommend enough.
James
When we arrived there was no staff available, only keys in lock. There was no information available in lodge either for local area or WiFi password etc. 6 phone calls to number in booking email wasn't answered. The location was quiet, and suited our needs.
Sheridan
Was a nice lodge in a good location with plenty of space, just a couple of niggles like main oven didn’t work so had to use small combo oven, the main television in front room was set to a certain volume and couldn’t be turned up and was no Wi-Fi without paying (I think?) which wasn’t good because phone signal was terrible even for 5,4g. Hot tub was good and lovely big garden for dog to run around
Joanne
Beautiful large lodge (Oak) with everything you’ll need from washing machine to a full size family kitchen. Nice and quiet with the beach only a 10 minute journey away. Bridlington is around 30 mins away for a day trip out. Would recommend to anybody that’s after a quiet and peaceful breakaway.
Olive
Beautiful cottage clean and has everything you need massive garden fully enclosed great for kids.
Kristina

Lisa
