We had such a lovely stay at the cottage! The location is perfect-super peaceful with stunning farm views. We loved seeing the horses and the owners were genuinely warm and helpful. It’s just the right spot for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Highly recommend if you want a calm break!

We had such a lovely time at this cosy cottage tucked away on a working farm. It’s surprisingly private and the owners, Robert and Sharon, couldn’t be nicer. The place is really spacious, with well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed was super comfy - we slept like logs! The garden is perfect for dogs, totally secluded and has nice furniture for relaxing outside. Plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted’s eateries, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. We’d definitely recommend it!

We spent a week here in mid-July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely stay. The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was a real highlight-especially during the scorching days, it was so nice to have a cool, refreshing dip. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. It was nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily too. Being near Stansted’s flight path was actually pretty entertaining; we enjoyed watching the planes land. Would definitely recommend this place!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed. Rob and Sharon put so much effort into converting this historic building and it shows. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering through charming villages like Thaxted. It’s a truly relaxing spot with everything you need for a comfy stay. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay here! The owners are genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is adorable, with charming half-timbered details and a comfy bed that ensured we slept well. The bathroom's shower is powerful and the cosy kitchen made it easy to relax. Parking right next to the cottage is a real bonus. Plus, the location is perfect for walks around Thaxted and exploring nearby villages with their quaint houses and windmills. Great spot!

The cottage itself is a charming little gem, with a cosy vibe and a fantastic shower-definitely a highlight! Parking was a breeze, right outside the door, which was really handy. We had a fantastic weekend here! The place was just what we needed and we’re already planning to return. The garden kept our dogs entertained and they especially loved the underfloor heating - Luna was wagging so much she strained her tail! Date of stay: 16th November 2024
The hot tub’s lighting was pretty poor - only one dim outside light, so we had to keep the toilet light on just to see! Still, overall, it was a relaxing stay, just a bit let down by the lighting situation. Wouldn’t mind returning, though.

We recently tried staying in a pod for the first time and honestly, it was great! Very tidy and snug, which we loved. The only tiny downside is if you're taller than 5ft9, you might feel a bit cramped on the downstairs bed, but overall, super comfortable. We’ll definitely come back!
Alex
Date of stay: 8th November 2024
Really enjoyed our stay, the jacuzzi was a proper treat!
