Hidden Firs, part of our Autograph Lodge Holidays Collection, is a cluster of outstanding, quirky micro-lodges situated in the village of St Martin’s in north-west Shropshire.

Opening for the first time in 2023, Hidden Firs has been designed to provide the perfect, year-round, secluded escape.

Each octagonal micro-lodge has been skilfully handcrafted and provides all you could need during your relaxing mini break.

Sumptuous king-size beds, well equipped kitchens and tastefully appointed bathrooms have been carefully combined to create a tasteful, intimate romantic break experience.

The interior is complimented superbly with a private exterior decked area featuring outdoor furniture and BBQ to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.

And best of all, enjoy relaxing in your very own bubbling hot tub overlooking the rolling Shropshire countryside.

St Martins itself has a well-stocked shop and delightful gastropub, both within walking distance.

Guests of the Hidden Firs enjoy beneficial rates at the nearby Lion Quays Resort’s impressive country club and leisure facilities.

The surrounding area offers plenty to see for lovers of tranquillity and outdoor adventure, with several quaint towns and picturesque villages.

The medieval market town of Shrewsbury is steeped in history yet bursting with cosmopolitan shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.

Take a trip over the border into Wales with the pretty town of Llangollen only a short drive away, providing a plethora of adventure activities suitable for all.

And if that wasn’t enough, the wider area also features the historic city of Chester (and it’s world famous Zoo), Zip World, the Ironbridge Gorge, the foodie haven of Ludlow, as well as many National Trust properties.

We had a lovely stay at this dog-friendly lodge. It was spotless and had all the essentials for a chilled break. The hot tub was a real highlight, offering beautiful countryside views. The only downside was needing to drive for good dog walks, but overall, we really enjoyed it!

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge; the views were stunning and the facilities lovely. There’s plenty to see nearby, but you’ll need a car to get around. The only downsides were no walking options without driving and the hot tub being out of action on our first night, which was a bit of a letdown.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge! The build quality is top-notch and it feels really modern and comfy. Perfect for a relaxing weekend away. The peace and quiet was just what we needed. The hot tub was a highlight - so relaxing, just a heads up to check the temp when you arrive, ours was at 22°C. Like others mentioned, once the trees grow in, it’ll be even more secluded and stunning. Small things could’ve made a difference, like a pizza cutter or better blinds on the door - they let in quite a bit of morning light. There are some shops and takeaways nearby, which was handy. We’re already planning to come back - definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely lovely stay! Booked the hidden firs because, honestly, the deal was just too tempting, especially in January when we’re usually watching the pennies. It totally paid off - the lodge was super cosy and warm, which was perfect with all that snow outside. We really appreciated the small touches like the dog bowl, treats and even a bottle of fizz waiting for us - little things that made it feel special. The location was pretty handy, with plenty of local amenities nearby. Only tiny snag was the mention in the welcome book about a 15% discount at Henlle Heights - turns out, the waitress said they don’t actually do discounts. No biggie, though - the food and cocktails were tasty! Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway.

Wow, what a lovely place! The owners really have thought of everything, with every little detail done to a high standard. The views are absolutely stunning and the lodge itself is spotlessly clean and beautiful. We loved how helpful and friendly the staff at Henlle were, especially when we had to sit outside with the dog-it was such a thoughtful touch that they brought blankets and turned on the outside lights. We’re already planning to return soon!

We had a lovely four-night stay. The site was spotless and well kept, really beautifully maintained. The flexibility of moving the TV around was a nice touch. Just a small thing-somewhere to put toothbrush and toothpaste would be handy. Overall, really enjoyed it!
