Lovely experience. The lodge was spotlessly clean. Loved the log burner. Situated in a perfect spot. Had everything you could need. Dishwasher. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. We will be returning. It was just perfect. Lovely chilled break. Hot tub a bonus. After our long walks. Peaceful surroundings

Had a wonderful anniversary, the lodge was stunning and the views to match even though the weather was cold the lodge never was the hot tub was always clean and sorted out every morning. The swimming pool was Amazing and to book slots to just your lodge for privacy was great news for our anxious visitors the parking facilities were great and the lodge was definitely disabled friendly and the staff were more than helpful, kind and just overall the best will definitely be taking a trio back but maybe in the summer next time haha We had a anniversary to remember and would like to say the holiday was incredible the staff were 100/10 and the overall trip and stay was one of the best we've travelled to

We have stayed at Penvale for three years now and had no fault, this year the lodge seemed a bit tired and in need of some tlc. The outside needs a bit of maintenance a paint and a replacement manhole cover that has a rock perched over it, in the lounge there are three sofas two have springs that have come through, the blinds need an adjustment. There was a few essentials in the kitchen but a hand soap dispenser and a small bar of soap in the loo wouldnt go a miss. The upstairs communal shower needs a blind, especially if using the shower in the evening. We all had a lovely time and will return in the future.

We booked a pre Christmas break at this lodge! We were emailed prior to arrival informing us that the log burner wasnt working! Upon arrival the front door plate was hanging off, the main front room light wasnt working and upon inspection at the top of the light fitting was insulation tape (indicting it was faulty and had been attempted to be repaired!) Once we unpacked and settled to watch the tv, the kitchen cupboard plinth fell off! Half way through the holiday the hot tub heater stopped working, we informed reception about all our problems, they came out and screwed on the door plate to the front door, they couldnt fix the front room light and couldnt fix the issue with the hot tub so we had to fill it with hot water for the last three days! We also noticed the paint work to the walls was filthy and very tired, a kick of paint is badly needed! Also the floors to all the wet areas need re grouting as there are gaps everywhere! The bathrooms need re siliconing too!Overall very disappointed! We received a 30% refund and will not be returning unless they have a serious refurb!

A lovely place to stay within a picturesque setting. Lodge was very spacious, but also tired. Downstairs, small rips in furniture, floor needing redoing, TV was a little on the small size for the size of the room, most kitchen utensils provided, had to improvise.Upstairs bottom drawer missing from bedside cabinet, dirty scuff marks on the wall, Bedding very clean which is a big plus.Outside, dark at night time even with the outside lights on, hottub lights not working and some of the jets not working. This did get mentioned the next day and the lady did try and rectify the problems. Gave us a solar light and a torch, light made a big difference. Nothing could be done about the hottub on our stay, but new parts were ordered. Overall our group of 6 had a brilliant weekend away.

Loved the location and surrounding areas. so peaceful but close enough to drive to everything and walks on the doorstep. The size off the Lodge was perfect and everything we needed was there. Staff was lovely. Only down side is was abit dated and needs updating. New sofas. New carpets. New tiles, grouting, silicone, all paint work needs doing. If all them bits was sorted I would give it 5 stars. When they was brand new bet they was amazing. Pool could do with updating maybe and new cover and a good clean

Been here twice now, lodges and surrounding are greatI have to say they need painting as they are looking tired, also ovens are really slow to warm anything up and only have 1 shelfWe went in a pet lodge and the downfall if you have a small dog is they escape through the railings so you can never relax, needs mesh on them or the spindles closer together I would highly recommend though, as in general the lodges are fab sizewise and we all had an amazing weekend

Lovely location and surroundings. Lodge very dated and tatty needs serious money spent to make it acceptable. When it was new it must have been delightful but now is very sad. Nowhere near worth the money it costs

The lodge was comfortable and spacious. Some of the furniture was a little tired eg dining room chairs. The kitchen was newly fitted and well appointed. Overall great for a family of 5 including 3 teenagers.

The accommodation exceeded my expectations. Clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. I scored 9 rather than 10 because the decking was eroded/broken and in need of repair/replacing in several places.

One of the best holidays we have had! Quite position - just the babbling brook! Lovely fishing, swimming and jacuzzi. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Julie
Beautiful and relaxing. Just what was needed.
Louise
Great lodge with a hot tub in beautiful surroundings. We had amazing weather and the kids really enjoyed using the outdoor pool (which is covered when the weather isn’t so good). It took about an hour to walk to Llangollen which is a lovely little town. Lots of lovely walks along the canal, the river or through the countryside. It’s a shame that there isn’t a bar or restaurant on-site. There are 2 pubs nearby (not open every day) and a bar/restaurant at the nearby campsite though.
Carolyn
Stunning setting, peaceful & relaxing. We went as a group of 8 to celebrate a 50th birthday, the lodge was everything we wanted, spacious living & kitchen area, which was well equipped, and we made the most of the bbq & hot tub! Bit of a walk into Llangollen and no pavement on busy stretch of road
Suzette
Amazing location, beautiful surroundings, lovely staff.
