View Accommodations

West Bay is a pretty caravan park in Bridport which has a lovely location by the marina in the middle of a harbour town.  The holiday park is also just a few minutes stroll from one of Dorset's best beaches on the sunny West Coast.

West Bay also has much to offer on the site itself including an indoor pool with a slide and a toddlers pool.  The staff at West Bay work hard to ensure that the whole family is entertained and you will find some excellent kids clubs and even teenagers clubs which means there is something for everyone.  And adults won't miss out on the entertainment either with fun family entertainment in the evenings at the popular Riverside Club.

If you like to get out and about and explore the area around West Bay caravan park there are plenty of walks and cycle paths around.  You can hire bikes within the holiday park. And when it's time for a relaxing drink head for the Quayside Cafe with Costa Coffee and unwind at your leisure.

Accommodation at West Bay is a choice of 2 or 3 bed caravans which are good value for money.  The more basic caravans start from just £29 a night per caravan. For larger parties and families the Coral caravan is a good option.  This is a 12ft wide caravan with 3 bedrooms sleeping 5-7.  The Pearl caravan is silimar and sleeps 6-8.  Both of these caravans are double glazed and have central heating making them suitable even in the colder months.

Date of stay: 1st October 2016
Nice caravan? our one gripe was that it smelt of cigarettes and smoke when we arrived, it's labelled as non-smoking.
Rebecca, Newport
Date of stay: 10th September 2016
Our caravan was great, very comfortable and had almost everything we needed. It might not be ideal for families with very small children, as our 10 month old was fascinated with the quartz stones on the fire and kept trying to eat them. There was plenty of storage space for clothes & food and the DVD player came in handy too.
Tracey, Oxford

Good. Only slight problem, would have liked instructions on cooker and microwave.
Patricia, Shepperton
Date of stay: 4th June 2016
The caravan was very comfortable. Nice beds, double glazing, central heating, well equipped kitchen, lovely shower. We thought the caravan could have done with a few hooks to hang towels. The sound on the tv was terrible. Having said that, there was an ipod docking stn, so perhaps that could have been wired up. Plenty of DVD's which our granddaughter enjoyed after a long day on the beach. Also a patio table and chairs on the decking.
Clare, Bicester

We have been coming to West Bay for holidays for the past 15 years but never have stayed in the holiday park, always Hotels. However, we now have a 2 1/2 yr old and oh my what a beautiful stay. We were surprised by the facilities on site and the cleanliness of the Caravan.

Would we stay here again, already saving up for 2016!
Mark, Kidsgrove
Date of stay: 5th September 2015
Very nice location for a summer holiday. Good facilities and easy access to West Bay and the Jurassic Coast.

My only criticism would be on the size of the van. We asked for a travel cot for our trip, but there really was no room to put this up anywhere. There were seven other people staying, but this was made clear at the time of booking.
Deborah, London
Date of stay: 4th September 2015
It was like a home from home, everything we needed was there, it was all of the highest standards.

Lovely caravan. Clean and modern. Surprised by the size of the double room (big) and the twin (tiny, I'm a size 8 and couldn't get my hips between the beds when I was trying to get something out from under a bed!)
Generally impressed though :)

Date of stay: 15th August 2014
Spent four nights at West Bay with my two sons. Its situated in a lovely place, and the site has a good set of amenities and was just the right level of busy for me. I would come back here again, but like so many other British holiday camp sites, there is a real danger than they may start to price themselves out of the reach of the average income. Its a shame, as this country has so much to offer.
Helen, Kent
Date of stay: 9th August 2014

It was one of nicest parks we have stayed out. For a big site it was really peaceful and relaxing. Didn't use club or pool as the surrounding area had to much going on.
Rebecca, Leicestershire
Date of stay: 19th July 2014
We have been to Westbay for the last few years. The park and caravans are very clean. We tend to hire one of the lower range caravans but have always been impressed by their condition and cleanliness. Our children (3 and 6) love the evening entertainment with Sid and Lizzie and if I'm honest I find it enjoyable to. The adult entertainment has always been good but this year I think it was the excellent with the entertainers being very talented and welcoming to the guests. The swimming pool is good with a flume and slide in the baby pool. The lifeguards are always very attentive and vigilant. We will definitely be going again next year.
Gary, Stafford

Date of stay: 12th May 2014
Our second visit here, but the first time as a family with our little boy. A great location, lovely welcome from reception and a lovely new caravan. The site club and bar areas are well maintained, aside from the soft play area for the little ones which really needs done TLC ... It has seen better days and looks a bit shabby. However, it's a great family site and being just a few minutes walk to the beach, and being right in West Bay makes it a perfect location, we will return :).
Aj, Taunton

Victoria, Southampton
Date of stay: 7th April 2014
Overall we had a lovely stay at this park and would definitely return.
The only few minor issues we would state would be we found the parking very narrow and not easy to get out of and no foot paths to vans which can become quite problematic when the grass is boggy.
Everything else was really good and it is a well maintained family sight with beautiful surroundings in the bay.Van we stayed in was very nice and good value for money.
Brian, Harlow Essex
Date of stay: 5th April 2014
It was the first time for this site. It was first class from the entry at reception all the way through to ground maintenance staff all first class, they could not do enough for us.
A big thank you all.
Janet, Tamworth
Date of stay: 29th March 2014
Everything was great except heating in caravan left a lot to be desired.
Elizabeth
We had a lovely stay in a Marlin caravan at West Bay over Easter. The caravan was perfect for our family of two adults and two children, it was clean, modern and well-equipped, and very warm for a chilly March visit. It's very compact so any more guests, or more adults, would probably be a bit squished. The location is great, West Bay is a nice little area, it's only a few minutes walk to the beach and there are shops and cafes nearby, and a really good playground. It's also very easy to get to other places e.g. Charmouth for fossil hunting, only 15-20 min drive. The caravan park facilities are fine but we didn't use them much as we were out and about - the pool was okay although not massive, soft play area fine for under 5s.
Jane
We booked a crayfish caravan, on arrival we found we were in a private caravan, which was fab. The caravan was very comfy with central heating & decking which was great as we had a dog with us. As it was a private caravan it had loads of extras including books/dvds, which we made use of. We only used the site as a base so didn’t use any of the parks facilities. There was a great fish & chip shop right outside of the site entrance, lovely fish & basically we had 2 portions for the price you’d pay for 1 in the local bars, just a shame it didn’t open Sunday evenings. If we were to return to this area we would definitely come back & request the same caravan, thank you to whoever the caravan belongs to.
Charli
We visited out of season with a preschooler. It was wonderful! The staff were so friendly and even the wet weather didn't dampen the fun!
Stephen
Fantastic holiday great site loads to do. fossil hunting. Lovely harbour.sea fishing from beach or boat and weymouth and Lyme Regis 10 minutes away
Sandra
Beautiful cosy Dolphin caravan . Lovely park just across the road from harbour ,nice pubs and a few shops . Very good area which is around 2 miles from Bridport lovely market on Wednesdays with stalls selling various items scattered through the streets .Dorchester and Weymouth also worth a visit. Lyme Regis around 8 miles and a great place to visit , very nice little shops selling beautiful things. Really enjoyed our stay and would defiantly recommend. Thank you West Bay for a great break.

Fun Days Out near West Bay

about 15 Miles
This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
about 16 Miles
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
about 23 Miles
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
about 24 Miles
Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.
