Premier is not a word I would associate with this lodge. Good points - hot tub clean - applicancesOther points - lodge dusty - dirty mug - duster/cloth found between bed and bedside unit - lack of cutlery 5 of most things but only 3 teaspoons - crockery not a set, 1 x coffee cup, 3 x teacups, mix of plates & bowls - lack of space in living area - need to move sofa so could sit at table - outside need to remove stinging nettles etc

Overall a very nice lodge, not given 5/5 as the lodge was booked as no pets, my wife has allergies and pet fur causes her a lot of discomfort. People take pets in without the knowledge of the owner, this is very selfish as there are plenty of lodges that are pet friendly, probably being selfish while saving a few pounds. Reception were informed, they are really nice, however not a lot they can do if people are sneaky.Location is excellent, perfect for couples and families. Definitely will go again (will have to have an extra deep clean though)

Few negative things with the accommodation was that the sauce pans was dirty with burn marks. The kettle was so full of calc. Only few small spoons and forks ect. The fridge needed to be defrosted. The shower head in one of the bathrooms keep falling down from the wall. But the bed was good and comfortable

Every single item in the lodge was chipped, broken or looked tired. The mattress in one of the twin rooms was too wide for the bed base so the sheets would not stay on the bed. The shower screen had a rubber edging on with so much dirt and grime in it it needed to be seen to be believed. I had to mop the floor by hand on the night we arrived as it was so bad. The photos and videos I have of the floor and water afterwards are mortifying to say the very least.

The site itself on both parts are very well maintained. The coffee shop only serves drink; there is no longer food served, just as an fyi. All staff were very helpful and friendly and were very quick to resolve any issues - The cafetière was cracked so mentioned this to reception and a brand new one was in the lodge by the time we came back in the afternoon . The site was unbelievably peaceful with the only noise coming from the birds tweeting away ????. Saw a red squirrel in the neighbouring tree which was a bonus! We stayed in lodge 4- Hot tub was lovely and hot and lodge itself was clean and comfy. Bed was very comfy as was the Outside furniture which looked fairly new too. If I had any negatives it would be that the windows could do with a good and regular clean mainly the patio doors. Yes the interior is a little tired and dated but it was all clean and comfy so not really a negative just an observation. Would I stay there again, most definitely! The peaceful setting was just perfect. There’s a short 2 minute walk to a little shingle beach - no facilities but a nice place to go of an evening as the sun sets. Water was very clear too! Just as an fyi the veranda on lodge 4 gets the sun in the morning but goes into the shade mid to late afternoon. There were board games in the main reception area on the main site which you can borrow but maybe take your own as there aren’t any in the lodges themselves.

Generally not value for money. Darwin escapes are not what they make themselves out to be

Accommodation was clean throughout, with comfortable beds. Hot tub was a plus, however not all jets were working, but still good to dip into after a day's out sightseeing. Very quiet location with a slightly restricted view of the solent, however suited our needs for the week.

As mentioned, lodge was a little tired, but hasn't stopped us rebooking as the overall holiday was fantastic and the site was clean, well kept, location perfect and the woodland walk and beach an added bonus.

The most beautiful setting you could wish for—stunning views over the Solent, direct access to the beach, and an incredible hot tub that made for a truly memorable stay. However, the lodge itself is in need of some serious TLC. The radiators were rusty, the sofas stained, and the dining chairs had no padding—just covers to make them look uniform. On arrival, we found dust and hair everywhere. Thankfully, we brought our own hoover, which we emptied three times just on the first day. It was clear that furniture hadn’t been moved to clean underneath or around it.The inventory also needs a refresh—there were only five sets of cutlery for six guests. It's clear you’re paying for the view here, but with a bit more attention to detail and a thorough deep clean, the lodge could be perfect. Also, a heads-up for those arriving with two cars: visitor parking is extremely limited. If none are available, you’ll have to use the other site’s car park. For us, with two special needs children, this made access to and from the lodge quite challenging and reception were not very willing to help.On the plus side the gentleman doing the hot tub maintenance was fantastic going above and beyond cleaning our decking daily.

We had a rickety dining chair which was reported to reception. This did not affect us directly as there were only two of us. More attention to the cleaning regime required and a lick of paint would not go amiss.

Lodge seemed a little tired. Only half of the hot tub worked (two opposite corners) so couldn't really enjoy as a family, staff failed to repair it despite admitting it was faulty and no communication without having to chase for update. One bedroom dirty with empty bottles and most of pack of peanut M&Ms all left scattered under a bed. Location in woodlands still makes for lovely location and good views.

The place was clean and comfy with everything we needed. You had a lovely short walk to the facilities of the cafe and gym. The staff were very helpful and lovely. The place was dog friendly which made it very nice for all of us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodside Coastal Retreat and plan to return. The lodge was lovey and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. There is only 1 parking space per lodge, which wasn’t ideal with us travelling with grandparents and 2 cars. However we were lucky to alway manage to get a visitors space. My only real complaint was that the lodge had a bad smell on arrival (which with a days airing and some airfreshers it went), and it was grubby, I gave it a good clean and wipe down on arrival. I don't feel it has had a good deep clean for a while, we found empty vapes, confetti and make up containers under beds, grape stalks in the living room light shade, a decent layer of dust on fire and tv and food splatters on the walls and surfaces. Once we had cleaned this all down we were happy with the accomodation. The furniture was well used, and could do with another kick of paint.

We booked just a few weeks before we went on holiday here and the price was very good. Excellent location, beautiful views, very friendly and helpful reception staff. We didn’t get chance to use the restaurant but the bar and staff are great.

Lovely side sea view lodge (No 33) and peacefully quiet! Overall would definitely recommend these lodges in this location.
