From the moment we arrived, Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel truly welcome. They've done an amazing job transforming this historic building with such care. The place offers a perfect retreat, with everything you need for a chill stay. The location is spot on-easy to explore Essex’s lovely villages and towns like Thaxted, which is packed with history and charm. We’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway. Definitely a good place!

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy place, tucked away in a really peaceful spot. The owners were super friendly and always happy to help if needed, but it still felt private and quiet. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling, definitely a highlight! Just a heads up, it’s right under Stansted's flight path, so there’s quite a bit of noise from the planes. Took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but it didn’t ruin our break at all. Would definitely recommend it!

We’ve stayed in some budget places before, but honestly, this one beats them all. The hot tubs fired by wood were fantastic and having peacocks wandering around while relaxing with a drink was such a quirky touch. The kitchenette only had a microwave, so cooking when the weather was bad would’ve been a hassle, but luckily, the weather was nice enough for us to use the BBQ. The hosts really looked after us and made everything feel special. We’d definitely recommend Apple Mount to anyone looking for a cosy getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay in the pod! It’s super cosy, warm and just the right size for two. The little touches like tea, coffee, biscuits and hot chocolate made it extra special. The hot tub was definitely a highlight - so relaxing. All in all, we’d happily recommend it for a nice escape. Definitely coming back!

We loved this cosy little cottage! It’s perfectly tucked away, so peaceful but still close enough to shops and local spots. The hot tub was a real highlight and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice touch. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel really welcome. Can’t wait to return!

The place is really spacious and the kitchen and bathroom are well-equipped - made cooking and getting ready feel easy. The bed was super comfy and the garden, dog-proof and secluded, had nice furniture for relaxing outside. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxted's restaurants, like The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. We’d definitely recommend it!

The cottage itself is adorable, with that charming half-timbered look and a decent shower for once! The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it feel like home. Plus, parking right outside was a massive bonus. It’s super clean, well-heated and perfect for exploring walks across the fields to Thaxted. Would definitely come back!
