Really loved the peaceful surroundings here

We had such a lovely weekend here! The location is great - away from all the busy tourist spots but close enough for a quick drive into Coniston village. The lodge was really well-equipped and modern, definitely a place we'd stay again. The only tiny hiccup was the Wi-Fi dropping a couple of times, probably because of the storm. Still, overall, a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Tarn Hows. The cabin was beautiful-spotlessly clean, with underfloor heating that kept us cosy. The bathroom was spacious and well-appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hot tub was a real highlight-so relaxing! The area was incredibly peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The only downside was the Wi-Fi situation; satellite Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during our visit and the park’s free Wi-Fi was unreliable. We ended up watching Film4 for three days straight because of it, which was a bit dull but still a nice break overall.

We had a lovely time at the cabin. The setting was super cosy and perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a real highlight! Just a heads-up, the listing says there’s a washing machine, but there isn’t one. Still, we’d definitely come back!

We stayed just behind Lodge Seventeen, which felt nice and private. The open-plan living area leads straight into the kitchen and it’s surprisingly roomy. The place is beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen. The bedroom was a good size, featuring a walk-in wardrobe, bedside tables, a TV and drawers, plus the bathroom was attached - the only one on-site. The bed was incredibly comfy, though at 6’2”, I found it a bit small for two, but it didn’t ruin our stay. The hot tub was already heated when we arrived and was well maintained throughout our visit. We’d definitely come back again!

Pretty decent

Given the time of year, we found the lodge to be really good value. We almost left after the first night because our old dog kept slipping on the wooden floors, but we decided to stick with it. Glad we did, because we enjoyed some lovely walks in the stunning surroundings. The park’s great for active dogs and hikers, just not quite right for ours right now.

We've been coming here for four years now and always enjoy it. Tarn Hows Lodge is in such a lovely spot, surrounded by stunning scenery. It’s handy for great walks too, just a little planning needed to make the most of it.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy lodge. It’s perfect for couples, super clean when we arrived and appreciated the tea, coffee and milk that was there. The only hiccup was the heating-no instructions, so we struggled to get the radiators working. Luckily, the fire in the main room saved the day!

The sofa was quite a bit smaller than expected and didn’t match the photos online. The other sofa looked much bigger and probably would’ve suited us better, honestly.

We really enjoyed our time in this charming cabin, surrounded by lovely scenery. The facilities were spot on, especially the endless coffee pods - loved that! Only minor things: the upstairs bedroom could do with a wardrobe and a lamp on each side of the bed. Also, the bed squeaked a lot when turning over. Adding a handrail outside the steps would make it safer. Still, we’d happily recommend it!

Cozy and peaceful

We had a lovely holiday overall. The lodge was well kitted out, though some areas could do with a bit of a refresh. Not an eco fanatic, but a recycling bin would be a nice addition. The second bedroom was a bit tight, with beds quite close and the shared decking areas mean less privacy than we'd hoped for.

Really pleased with the value, especially for the price. It’d be great if they offered monthly discounts on dogs for those staying longer. Makes a difference!

We had such a lovely stay! The lodge’s setting is truly beautiful, perfect for a peaceful escape. The hot tub was a real highlight after long days out exploring. Only thing missing for us was a dishwasher, but otherwise, great experience!

We’ve visited Crake Valley a few times now and honestly, it’s always a great experience. The site is peaceful, beautifully maintained and super comfortable. When we arrived, the little touches like hot drinks, shampoo, oven gloves and dishwasher supplies really made us feel welcome. It’s such a lovely place and we’re already planning our next trip. Thanks for a fantastic weekend!

We get it, freezing temperatures happen. The water freezing overnight was understandable, though a bit inconvenient. Still, safety first in such cold weather!

We’ve stayed at Tarn Hows a couple of times now and it’s just as wonderful as the first. The Lake District keeps amazing us with its scenic walks and stunning vistas. Waking up to a crisp, frosty morning is always a highlight for us!

We thought the lodge looked promising at first glance, but once we looked closer, quite a few issues popped up. It was frustrating because some of these problems had been there for a while - previous guests had mentioned them too, but nothing was done about it. The balcony was a bit of a letdown; the table and chairs weren’t ready when we arrived, so we ended up cleaning them ourselves, including wiping down greasy, marked windows. The hairdryer in the main bedroom was broken and kept cutting out and it didn’t seem to have any PAT testing certificate, which was worrying. The crockery set was all over the place - no matching plates or bowls and only 3 wine glasses in the cupboard, none of which were in good shape and definitely not enough for four people. The outdoor gravel steps are in need of urgent repair - they’re quite dangerous, especially at the top. Inside, the kitchen blind’s string was broken and the upstairs sliding bedroom door doesn’t lock at all, which isn’t ideal. Cleaning staff did a good job, but these maintenance issues really let things down. We didn’t see any staff during our stay, except Pamela, who came by just to bring us two loo rolls. Our only way in and out was through the back gate because the front steps are so unsafe, which was a bit awkward - we had to pass by other hot tub guests and it felt a little embarrassing. We’d love to come back because we did have a lovely time, but these ongoing problems make us hesitant. It’s honestly a shame because it feels like previous guest complaints have been ignored. The only kind gesture was when management brought us a fan because the upstairs was really hot; unfortunately, it clanked loudly and seemed a bit dangerous. Honestly, they need to get their act together - maintenance should be a top priority!

We had a lovely stay in such a scenic spot! The helpful text the day before made everything easy and the place itself was spotless and well-equipped. Just a quick heads-up - the shale path could do with some fixing since it’s pretty slippery and a bit unsteady if you’re not careful. Also, there are some low branches scraping against the roof when the wind picks up, which sounds a bit alarming at first! Overall though, it’s a perfect little getaway, especially since it’s just a short drive to all the lakes’ amenities. We’d definitely go back!

Crake Valley really hits the spot with its fantastic location - perfect for those who love walking and messing about on the water. The lodges are comfy and well-stocked with all you need. It’s close to Coniston and Ulverston, which makes grabbing groceries or exploring super easy. We’ll be back for sure!

Really enjoyed our stay, the beds made a big difference.

We were really impressed with how quickly they sorted out our broken clothes horse. Sent an email and by the same day, a br and new one was delivered. The indoor and balcony furniture all looks great and well maintained. Very happy with the service!

A lovely spot for serenity and scenic views, perfect if you're bringing your pets along too.

Great holiday, everything you need for a great break away No WiFi tho was the only downside.

A small and pleasant resort. Staff were friendly and helpful. The lodge was sufficiently maintained and the hot tub a great addition. Highly recommended and good value for money.

We had a lovely stay. The lodge was big enough for all of us, the hot tub was a huge bonus and was very luxurious and the park itself was quiet. We would definitely return.

Me my Husband and my Dad Arrived friday 8th july , we were taking back by its beautiful surrounding. our lodge was lovely and clean we stayed in number 7 witch was in a lovely spot. weather was beautiful for the 7 day we were there for. lake coniston was on your doorstop with amazing views and great walks around. My dog Hunter loved the lake he would not come out !!! will definitely be going again soon i hope.

Absolutely fantastic lodge not overlooked. The hot tub was very private. Inside the lodge was spot less.
