Visitor Reviews of Heathside Lodges

Date of stay: 4th April 2025
We really enjoyed our stay! The place was spotless and way bigger than the pictures showed, which was a nice surprise. Everything we needed was there and the quality of the towels and bedding was great. The hot tub was a real highlight, but we also loved sitting on the decking in the morning, soaking up the sun in peace and quiet. Brilliant!

We found the place lovely and bright, with such a peaceful vibe. The location was spot on, offering gorgeous views and a lovely walk through the woods right on the site. The shop was super handy and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We especially appreciated the privacy from the high laurel hedges, perfect for relaxing in the hot tub. It was well maintained daily and being slightly raised made it easier for us. The beds were dreamy, with crisp Egyptian cotton and comfy pillows. Can’t wait to return!

We recently stayed here for four days and honestly, it was just what we needed - so peaceful and quiet, exactly as we wanted. The staff were genuinely friendly and made us feel really welcome from the start. The lodge itself was spotlessly clean and super spacious, with everything we could ask for. The hot tub was definitely a highlight, perfect for unwinding after a long day. There isn’t much around for walking, aside from a pub about ten minutes up the road, but it’s a bit pricey and not the friendliest place. We didn’t mind though, as we drove to nearby towns and coastal spots, with Aldi and Morrisons about 25 minutes away. Plenty of places to eat that don’t break the bank too. The onsite shop had all the essentials, which was handy. We’d happily return and definitely recommend it if you’re after a chilled, relaxing break.

The outdoor furniture really needs an upgrade, it’s looking pretty tired. Same with the hot tub - it’s quite old now. The lighting was faulty and the space felt a bit cramped. The decking and lodge could do with a fresh coat of paint. Inside furniture was fine though.

We had a really lovely stay at the lodge. It’s perfectly tucked away, giving us that peaceful escape we were after, yet still close enough to explore nearby spots. The hot tub was a real highlight, especially since it’s just outside the back door-no long walk needed after a day out. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the dressing gown and extra towels, which made using the hot tub so much easier. The only slight downside was the early check-out at 9am, but honestly, it didn’t spoil our trip. The staff were super friendly and always happy to help. This is our second visit and definitely not our last, can’t wait to come back next year!

We had a lovely stay at Blythe Lodge! The place was spotless and welcoming, though a softer mattress would have made it perfect for us.

We recently stayed for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate our daughter’s birthday and honestly, it was fantastic from start to finish. The lodge was spotless when we arrived, with all the essentials like tea, coffee and milk already provided - such a nice touch. The hot tub was ready to go and we appreciated the regular checks by the staff to keep everything safe. The setting was just perfect-so peaceful and scenic, it really helped us unwind. We had such a lovely time and honestly, we’re already planning our next visit! Can’t recommend it enough for a relaxing break.

We stayed at this lodge recently and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The place was spotlessly clean and warmer than we expected, which was lovely. The beds were comfy enough for a good night's sleep and the en-suite was quite nice. The hot tub, while a bit outdated and not fully functional-jets were slow and no bubbles-still added to the fun. The only real downsides were the old TVs and chipped kitchenware; if you’re planning to cook, bringing your own knives and chopping boards might be a good idea. Despite these little niggles, we’d happily return. We really enjoyed our time!

Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was lovely and very clean overall. The welcome was warm and friendly, which made us feel right at home. The space inside was perfect for us, plenty of room to relax. Only downside was some mould on the windows, which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, it was a great experience and we'd definitely come back again.

We had an amazing stay at Heathside Lodges from Monday to Friday. The accommodation itself was really spacious, which we loved and there was plenty of storage for all our stuff. It was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed - dishwasher (with tablets provided), kettle, toaster, microwave, oven and even two fridges plus a freezer, which was great. The hot tub was just right in both temperature and size and the instructions made it straightforward to use. Our kids had a blast with the football goals, play equipment and exploring the nature walks around the site. We also took a day trip to Southwold, enjoyed a visit to Africa Alive and had a lovely dinner in Halesworth one evening. We used the Chinese takeaway leaflet left in the lodge on our last night and it was delicious! The on-site shop was handy and reasonably priced too. The only thing that was a bit of a pain was the 9am check-out - we had our final evening on the Thursday and didn’t want to rush to leave early the next morning. Despite that, the kids are already asking to come back and we’re definitely thinking of booking again!

We stayed at this lodge recently and really enjoyed our time. It’s super cosy and warm, perfect for chilly days. The place was spotless and well furnished. The only hiccup was the slow drains-sometimes you ended up standing in water, but it did clear eventually. Overall, a lovely spot!

We had a fantastic weekend at Lodge 2 for three nights. The parking right outside made unpacking so much easier, which was a real bonus. The vibe was peaceful, thanks to the respectful guests, so we truly felt like we had a proper escape from our usual routines. The hot tub was definitely the highlight - we didn’t miss a day using it! The lodge was spotless, with fresh towels provided, so nothing to complain about there. The owners are genuinely lovely and gave us some handy tips about the area. Overall, great value for money and we’re already thinking about coming back. Highly recommend!

I stayed with 2 adults and 3children aged 16 - 2 years. The lodge was beautiful, clean and fully equipped. Hot tub was always clean and heated perfectly. Plenty of towels and pillows even a board game to pass the time. We had a BBQ too. The shop was conveniently on site and fully stocked. All the staff were very helpful and polite. We had a fantastic time and would definitely book to stay here again.
Paul
Very good location for walks. There was a large field for children to play on.
Heather
Great location with only a 10 minute walk to the local friendly pub (20 on the way back after a few beers) serving amazing food and lovely staff and locals who made you feel very welcome The lodge itself was lovely inside with everything we needed. The exterior was a bit shabby and could do with a lick of paint. The hot tub was disappointing as on arrival we opened it and there appeared to be some sort of red drink spilt round the edge and some hairs in the tub. This had clearly not been cleaned after the last guests. The lid of the tub was also in poor condition with rips and tears and the handle broken. On the whole was a lovely break just a shame about the hot tub.
Donna
This is our 2nd visit to heathside lodges and it did not disappoint. The site is immaculate we have never been to a site which is so well maintained. All the staff onsite are friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble, the on-site shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. The lodge itself was spotless it had everything you would need with the added bonus of a hot tub which was clean and private. We will be going again
Robert
Great location on a rural site ideally situated 10 mins from Southwold and the coast The site wad very well kept and shrub and tree planting ensured privacy to each plot.
