Date of stay: 4th August 2018
A lovely sized lodge with ample space inside and out for the children to play. The hot tub was a plus. We had a problem with the washing machine which was dealt with very well by the site staff who were all friendly and helpful. A good lodge for a family holiday. The mini welcome pack of coffee, tea and milk enabled us to have a welcome drink on arrival but a slightly larger pack would have been greatly appreciated.
Graham, Leven / Fife
Date of stay: 27th July 2018
Can't fault the lodge, a genuine 10 out of10.
Well thought out.
The addition of DVD, Books, Games, etc was much appreciated.
The basket with local information was also well used.
The enclosed decking area with the gate was perfect for the dog.

Lovely half-term Autumn break. The caravan was warm and cosy and the peace and tranquility was very relaxing. The area is interesting and Kipford village have two hotels with excellent eating services. This site is beautiful in he summer time with plenty of wild life and good walks, but it was just as attractive in late October and we enjoyed it.
Michelle, Oldham

Date of stay: 21st October 2016
Lovely location with spectacular scenery. The log cabin was beautiful in every way. The vacation was enjoyed by the grandparents, ourselfs, our children and the dogs very much. Loved the hot tub to add extra relaxation. The open plan kitchen promoted togetherness as a family. Would definitely recommend for those that need to relax as a family.
Susan, Strathmiglo, Fife.
Date of stay: 14th October 2016
We have stayed in a selection of vans on the site over the years some low level and others higher up the site. Nowadays as my mother is getting less able due to her age the vans lower of the site have better accessibility.
The gold vans are all styled slightly differently which is great and they are usually very new and in superb condition. They mostly have great decked areas with as good a view as possible.
Some of the second bedrooms can be small but I often ask for the two single beds to be put together to form a double which is better.
Kate, East Kilbride
Date of stay: 16th September 2016

The caravan was much better than I expected, patio doors leading to decking at the front and another door leading to decking on the other side. Outside seats and table, with a lovely aspect and outlook. Lovely situation. Caravan was spacious, bright, immaculate and beds and pillows were very comfortable. All in it was a fantastic few nights, would go back.

The only negative was that dur to the lodge being pet friendly, there was loads of dog hair on the couches and carpets on our arrival which we had to vacuum up before the kids could play.

A comfortable and spotlessly clean caravan in a nice quiet setting. The caravan had bird feeders on the balcony which were visited by red squirrels as well as birds - which was fantastic. We fully intend visiting again. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Lovely pine lodge. The nicest accommodation we've ever stayed in but not cheap. Only tiny criticism is more cutlery would be useful. Set of 6 too few if you only want to run the dishwasher once a day.

A fairly nice caravan, not the best accommodation I have used in the many years of going to Kippford, it seems the better ones are being sold off aqt an alarming rate!!
Stephanie, Aberdeenshire
Date of stay: 16th October 2015
Beautiful site and location, the park is quiet and each mobile home is private with landscaped decks and shrubs/trees surrounding. Was lovely to feed the red squirrels every day with peanuts from the shop and the birdlife and rabbits around the place add to the tranquility. The entrance to 7Stanes mountain biking routes is literally across the road and the beaches at Sandyhills and Rockliffe are great too. Good pub The Anchor at the very picturesque Kippford. Lovely holiday, it is beautiful all times of the year but Autumn with the change of colours is particularly nice.

The caravan was roomy and comfortable and our party of 4 adults didn't feel as if we were getting under each others feet. The Welcome pack of milk with sachets of tea, coffee, sugar, etc was much appreciated.
Sarah, Hamilton
Date of stay: 17th July 2015
The caravan was well equipped and spacious (the rooms with single beds are small though, as is the toilet. Didn't spoil our holiday). I loved the thoughtful touches like a fresh pint of milk in the fridge, and some tea / coffee sachets when we arrived. I think we had the best spot in the park (AA9). We will definitely be back if the opportunity arises.

beds not too comfy but that was only small issue

Date of stay: 17th October 2014
expensive compared to a hotel holiday. Checkout at 10 and check in at 4 meant 5 day holiday was reduced to 4
Kayleigh, Perth
Date of stay: 13th October 2014
Lodge much bigger and better than it looked in the photos. Only thing I would say was wrong were that the pillows on the bed were far too slim so could do with extra pillows. This probably would have been given had I asked for some but it wasn't a big issue and I just folded the pillow in half. The privacy around the hot tub was perfect.
Lyn
Date of stay: 10th October 2014
No problem with comfort and cleanliness, however, it is not what I would call a lodge, more a large caravan. Walls are very thin, so can hear every conversation we each had with each other (6 people), and the hot tub was pointless due to it being so near to other holiday homes on a busy park, so not enjoyable, and it is on a timer, so goes off at 10pm, about the time we would normally get in.

We thought the park was lovely. Really well laid out and we liked the fact that each caravan head its own decking area and there was some privacy. The location was great being able to walk from the site was a real bonus.

Our family have been visiting Kippford over the past 25 years and are pleased to say that the standards haven't dropped. Everything spotless in the accommodation and the park itself immaculate. Assured too of peace and quiet, please keep it this way, i.e. no bar or restaurant.

We took our three grandchildren, aged 8,5 and 2 and had a great time, The play parks on site are good. The pond dipping was fun and well organised. The new park in Dumfries is super. It was fun visiting various beaches. Dino Park and Dalscone Farm Park were both fun to visit. All in all we had a fab time.

This is the third year we have gone to Kippford holiday park and once again we've had a very enjoyable time. I'm sure we will be back next year!

What a find! This is a holiday park with a difference. You really feel like you're tucked away in the countryside, visited only by rabbits, red squirrels, wood pigeons, etc. I would recommend Kippford Holiday Park to anyone. As long as you don't mind the flimsy walls of a caravan, then this is the place for you!

Couple of small things due to wear and tear, things maybe need fixing and checking properly. I love the site at kippford and the lodge is ideal with the hot tub next to the sitting area. Will be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Kippford, as always. However when booking on line if there is a choice of more than one of the particular accommodation we are looking for available then we would like to be able to choose where it is on the site, as we do prefer to be at the top of the park if at all possible.

Boston Lodge is a wonderful step up from a gold standard static holiday home however it is a bit pricey for one family. Probably better suited to two families who can spread the cost a little.

I was very impressed with the standard of accommodation. The only slight negative I had was with the comfort of the sofas which I suppose is standard for caravans but in such a spacious area I would have thought there was room for a more modern and comfy design, Really nitpicking wit that though....

We were all very impressed with the high standard of the lodge. It was very clean and comfortable with lots of extras.

Stayed in the Oyster Bay lodge for 4 nights, it was amazing! It was huge, with walk-in wardrobes in each bedroom, en-suite & large family bathroom. The kitchen was particularly impressive with a range cooker & American style fridge/freezer. Amazing views from the decking. Would definitely recommend.

This was our 3rd lodge we have stayed in with a hot tub and by far the best. We stayed in a VIP lodge which was really comfortable and cosy. There was plenty of storage space in the bedrooms and the living room and kitchen were of a decent size. We were a family of 4 but the lodge was big enough for 6 so we had extra space, but the hot tub was also big enough for 6 which meant we had enough room to sit in it comfortably.

The overall site at Kippford is well kept and clean, the staff are lovely and the area in general is one of the most picturesque in Scotland. Nice place to go to get away from the stresses of work :)

Can not fault this beautiful lodge. It was so clean and homely. The pictures do not to justice to the actual lodge. Very beautiful.
Fìona
Really enjoyed the beautiful location, ideal to travel around the area.
Joseph
Very quiet and relaxing park - just what we were looking for
Bridget
Lovely quiet site. Staff very helpful. Sorry to see that the shop has gone. Everything you need in the van and welcome pack very much appreciated.
Stephanie
Great location with the nearby beach at Rockliffe and mountain biking at the 7 Stanes right across the road. Especially good to see the return of the red squirrels who like to visit the decking and eat the peanuts put out for them. The site is very quiet and located on a hill so the views are great. All the mobile homes and lodges are private with decking areas and landscaping so the whole site looks more like a garden than a mobile home car park. The staff are also very helpful and friendly with any problems sorted out very quickly and efficiently. If you are after night-life, this is not the place for you but if you like walks on the coast and in the forest, cycling/MTB, horse riding and generally relaxing in a quiet, non-touristy place you will love Kippford.
Matt
Another excellent stay at Kippford. So relaxing and quiet. The only shame is that the site shop has closed down. We'll definitely be back.
John
Perfect if you want to take your dog on holiday
Michael
Great caravan, beautiful surroundings.
Elaine
Amazing location, fantastic staff and a truly relaxing break. The hot tub lodge was spacious and we were surprised with the dishwasher and washing machine. First time here but definitely not the last!
Kenny
The only complaint I would have is the lack of a bar/entertainment on site.
Tina
Loved it this was the 4th time we have been back, if you just want to relax and enjoy the piece and quite this is the place to go
Ilona
I have stayed a Kippford many times and have always enjoyed the time there. The location, the views and the opportunity to explore a beautiful part of the country make going there again soon an easy choice to make. The facilities and helpful staff make for an enjoyable and restful break away.

Fun Days Out near Kippford

We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.

Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.

We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...

This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
