The lodge and area was wonderful, better than expected. We loved it so much that we booked for next year whilst still there. The only downside is the mattress in master bedroom, I thought I was gunna be flung out of it every time my partner moved due to the bounce and springs in mattress however that was clearly not enough to put me off, for a week I can easily deal with that. Most places we visited, it was about an hours drive so definitely wouldn’t recommend if you don’t have access to a car. It was so lovely and quiet. Hot tub was an added bonus.Lodge had a bath which was perfect for my children who don’t like showers. Excited to come back again

Great spot, would definitely return

Honestly, our stay had its ups and downs. The water heater was a bit of a nightmare, needing resets all the time and one morning we just couldn’t get hot water at all. We reported it to the site manager, who checked it out and thought it might be the gas bottle not switching properly, but the issue kept going. Turns out, the boiler was overdue for a safety check too, which was a bit worrying-photos of the reset button and the active indicator confirm it. On the other hand, the place was really spacious and peaceful, which was lovely. We also appreciated having plenty of DVDs to watch. That said, there were quite a few basic things missing-no microwave containers, oven dishes suitable for casseroles, or even essentials like a washing up cloth, brush, or enough bin liners (luckily, we brought some ourselves). The bathroom amenities were lacking too: no hairdryer, slip mats, or bath mats. The main bedroom door catch was quite stiff, making it a struggle to open and the bathroom door wasn’t much better. The hot tub cover looked like it needed replacing. Still, overall, it was decent for a quiet getaway, despite the little inconveniences.

We had a really great stay at the lodge. The space was perfect, with a spacious living and dining area, lots of storage and a modern kitchen that made cooking easy. The two bedrooms were a decent size, each with its own shower and bathroom, which was a nice touch. We loved having our own private hot tub - perfect for relaxing after a day out. The small issues that did pop up were sorted out swiftly by the friendly maintenance team. If you want peace and quiet, this place is ideal. There’s no shop or bar on-site, but nearby Halwill has a lovely pub called The Junction Inn and a little convenience store. Plenty of great places to explore within an hour, like Bude, Rosemoor Gardens and Dartmoor - we’ll definitely be back!

We had a lovely, peaceful escape and really enjoyed the hot tub. The lodge was nearly perfect for us, though we wish there was a washing machine. The wheelchair ramp was a bit too steep and slippery, so we’d need a better one to return.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The only downside was the spa shower jets being turned off, which was a bit of a letdown. Otherwise, everything was lovely and cosy. Definitely a place we'd come back to!

We really enjoyed the stay. The lodge was spotless and had top-notch appliances which made cooking so much easier. Only thing was, the paths might need tarmacking - got muddy easily!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tamar lodge, especially the hot tub which was such a treat after days out. The location was peaceful but handy for exploring North Devon and Cornwall. Perfect spot for a chill holiday, we’d definitely go back! Such a lovely week.

We had a fantastic time! The kids, aged 2 and 5, really enjoyed the ample space to run around and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. Definitely planning to return soon!

Lovely quiet and relaxed site. Lodges are spacious, well maintained, well equipped and very clean. Close to Dartmoor and 30 minutes from the beaches of Bude. Roadford lake, which is great for water sports is just down the road.

Great place to stay, quiet, peaceful and relaxing just what we wanted ?

We spent five nights in Ruby Country Lodges. The complex was in a secluded spot and there was plenty of things to do in the area. It was calm and peaceful. The maintenance staff Mark was available every day and he and his colleagues are up keeping the complex to a high standard. The instructions for guests was extremely clear and all our queries were answered in the booklet.

Beautiful surroundings, spacious contemporary lodge. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect relaxing break with plenty of places of interest close by.

Absolutely loved the lodge, spotlessly clean, home from home had everything ypu needed and more, beds were so comfy, quality linen check in was quick and easy, lovely surroundings, would highly recommend, we cannot wait to book again for a visit. Thank you so much for having us to stay ??

After being disappointed after our last 2 visits ,2 shabby lodges , especially the last one . this time we were not disappointed, lodge spotless , bed very comfortable and overall the site looking very tidy . Can’t wait til we return next March

Great getaway for relaxing and peace and quiet. Lodge was great, everyone loved it and hot tub was fab.

This was our 3 rd visit and the lodge which was a Tamar is looking tired and some of the kitchen cupboards and cooker need a good steam clean. Dirty marks on the mattress which we only discovered when we stripped the beds. Needs updating and refreshing especially the decking and outdoor furniture

We have been going to Ruby lodges for about 8 years now and we absolutely love it! It’s quiet and relaxing and such a peaceful retreat. The lodges are always spotless and the staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them, we would highly recommend it here.
